“Vali, it’s quite rare to see you joining us,” Tenraku chuckled.
“Hmph, I’m just here to deal with Rizevim,” Vali replied with a cold snort.
As aloof and arrogant as ever, Tenraku couldn’t help but find Vali’s attitude amusing.
“Is she doing okay?” Vali hesitated for a moment before asking.
Knowing he was referring to Ophis, Tenraku nodded.
“Don’t worry, she’s living the life— eating, playing, sleeping. She couldn’t be better.”
Vali was the type who seemed cold on the outside but was warm on the inside, so Tenraku didn’t tease him further. However, Vali’s face darkened slightly after hearing Tenraku’s words.
Ophis was, after all, the Dragon God-Sama. Were you treating her like a pig?
But upon closer thought, it didn’t seem like such a bad thing. Vali grunted and chose not to say anything more.
“Vali.”
Lavinia also stepped forward, her gaze toward Vali filled with sisterly affection and gentleness.
However, Vali’s expression became extremely awkward upon seeing Lavinia.
“L-Lavinia.”
Vali, who had been neglected since childhood and always pretended to be aloof, found it most challenging to deal with people like Lavinia, who treated him kindly. Tenraku chuckled inwardly, but at this moment, Arthur Pendragon also approached.
“Kamiya Tenraku, how’s Le Fay doing?”
Arthur Pendragon was the descendant of King Arthur and inherited the legendary Holy King Sword – Caliburn (also known as Sword in the Stone), making him a powerful swordsman and an important member of Vali’s team.
However, according to what Le Fay had said, her older brother, Arthur, had left home and joined the Khaos Brigade because he fell in love with one of the maids at home and couldn’t gain his family’s approval.
Though he appeared to be a gentlemanly golden-haired handsome guy in a suit and glasses, he unexpectedly had a soft spot for maids.
Hmm, from Tenraku’s keen eyes, this guy seemed to have a sister complex as well.
“Don’t worry, Le Fay is doing fine now. She has also formed a pact with my younger sister, Ravel, and became her peerage.”
“Le Fay is still at home with Ravel. Do you want to go see her later?” Tenraku suggested.
Although Arthur Pendragon was somewhat tempted, he ultimately shook his head.
“There’s no need to meet for now. Being able to interact with companions and friends she met outside my protection as her older brother is a rare opportunity for her to grow.”
“However, as her older brother, I entrust her to your care.”
Looking at Tenraku, Arthur Pendragon spoke earnestly.
“There’s no need to worry about that. Le Fay has also formed a pact with me as a magician. I will treat her as if she were my own younger sister,” Tenraku smiled, surprising Arthur Pendragon.
He hadn’t expected Le Fay to form a pact with Kamiya Tenraku as well. With the Phenex siblings’ influence, Le Fay was truly taken care of!
But upon further thought, there was really nothing to worry about.
While Tenraku, Lavinia, Vali, and Arthur Pendragon conversed, Kuroka, a former teammate and acquaintance, greeted Bikou.
“Stinky monkey, what brings you here, meow?”
“I had no choice but to come when Vali did. But it’s interesting to fight alongside those powerful folks from the Qlippoth, ōhhhhhhhhh…”
Bikou, holding a gold-banded stick, laughed. However, as if remembering something, Bikou looked at Kuroka with a mischievous expression.
“What about you, Kuroka? You seem to be living quite well with your younger sister now.”
“Have you gotten Kamiya Tenraku’s genes? Weren’t you always talking about finding your younger sister first and then finding a powerful man to take their genes? Kamiya Tenraku seems like a good choice.”
Although Kuroka had long obtained the genes she wanted, being reminded of her past embarrassing moments by Bikou, she couldn’t help but blush.
“Mind your own business!”
Seeing Vali and his teammates getting along fairly well with Tenraku’s group, Azazel on the side let out a small sigh of relief.
“Tenraku, from now on, you’ll be the captain of this team,” Azazel said, thinking of something else.
“Captain? Me?”
“You’re the most qualified here, aren’t you? It’s better for you to take charge; I don’t want to deal with such troublesome matters.”
Tenraku felt a bit speechless. He hadn’t considered becoming a captain.
“While I may have the qualifications, most of the members in this team are young newcomers. An old fogey like me doesn’t belong here,” Tenraku said.
“Among all of us, you’re the strongest, with experience fighting Rizevim several times. Besides, everyone else also approves of you. There’s no one more suitable for the role,” Azazel said earnestly, patting Tenraku on the shoulder.
Actually, Azazel had considered other candidates, but with nearly half of the team being Tenraku’s harem, choosing someone else would likely be “difficult to convince.”
“If it’s Kamiya Tenraku, then I have no objections,” Sairaorg said.
“Same here,” Seekvaira added.
“We also support the Red Dragon Emperor becoming the captain,” Griselda smiled, representing the Angel faction.
Rias and her group didn’t need to say anything, while Tiamat and Vali didn’t care either way. Whoever became captain was fine as long as it wasn’t them.
“See, kid, this is what they all want,” Azazel chuckled, while Tenraku just sighed.
“Fine, fine, I’ll be the captain,” Tenraku conceded, feeling a bit troubled but accepting nonetheless.
With Rias and Sona helping him out, he shouldn’t have to worry too much.
Thinking about it, Tenraku couldn’t help but feel a bit proud.
Haha, this is the advantage of being a harem king!
“Now, let’s come up with a name for our team. After all, our actions will attract attention from various factions afterward, so we need a catchy name,” Azazel suggested, and everyone nodded in agreement.
“D×D…”
Koneko-chan’s murmured voice caught everyone’s attention.
Seeing everyone looking at her, Koneko-chan was startled but continued somewhat shyly, “Our team is a mixed group of humans, Devils, Angels, Fallen Angels, and Dragons, so I feel like this name is quite fitting.”
“What does D×D stand for? Like the title ‘Great Red,’ does it mean ‘the Dragon of Dragons’?” Rias asked, raising a question, while Koneko-chan explained.
“The main purpose of our team is to fight against Rizevim and stop the resurrection of the Sovereign Beast 666 – Trihexa. But on a deeper level, it also signifies protecting Great Red.”
“Clear and concise. I think this team name is quite good. What do you all think?” Azazel asked, stroking his chin.
Tenraku, Sairaorg, and the others also agreed that the name was good, nodding in approval.
“Then it’s decided. Our team will be called the ‘D×D Team’!”
Azazel announced.
Thus, the D×D Team was officially formed to combat Rizevim and prevent the resurrection of the Sovereign Beast 666 – Trihexa!
