“Rias, aren’t you going to stop them?” Sona asked as she watched Tenraku and Lavinia in the training ground.
“Why stop them? Don’t you find this development interesting, Sona?” Rias replied, her interest piqued.
On the edge of the training ground, Rias and Sona Sitri’s group observed Tenraku and Lavinia, who had already stepped onto the field. Seeing Rias so intrigued, Sona sighed helplessly.
Velerinia Reni, the one who received recognition from Mephisto-sama, was undoubtedly a top-tier Magic User, especially considering she possessed one of the legendary Longinus, the Eternal Ice Princess – Absolute Demise. From every angle, she was a formidable and dangerous opponent.
However, what concerned Sona was the audacity of this Magic User San. Though her strength was undoubtedly formidable, volunteering to battle Tenraku seemed a bit overconfident.
Let’s hope Tenraku doesn’t rough her up too much…
“Lavinia San, are you really going to do this?” Tenraku inquired.
“I actually think we could try a different approach. For example, Lavinia San could stay with us for a while so we can get to know each other. If we feel good about it, then we can formally enter into the contract,” Tenraku suggested.
“While your proposal is valid, I prefer this simpler method. Besides, getting the chance to battle the legendary Red Dragon Emperor is rare and precious,” Lavinia replied.
“Perhaps I’m being a bit stubborn, so I’ll show a little sincerity,” she added.
“Red Dragon Emperor, if you can defeat me, I will give you the Eternal Ice Princess – Absolute Demise,” Lavinia declared and Tenraku regarded her seriously.
However, Tenraku was somewhat surprised by the words of this beautiful Magic User.
“Lavinia San, although I don’t think you’re arrogant, you must understand that it’s almost impossible for you to defeat me, whereas it’s very simple for me to defeat you,” Tenraku stated.
“The Eternal Ice Princess – Absolute Demise must be important to you and the Magic Association. Why would you offer it to me in this way?” He inquired, narrowing his eyes.
Tenraku didn’t consider her to be arrogant or foolish. On the contrary, in Tenraku’s eyes, she was an incredibly smart and capable Magic User, almost flawless in her demeanor and actions.
“The Eternal Ice Princess – Absolute Demise is my Sacred Gear, and it’s my freedom to dispose of it. The Association has no right to intervene in this matter,” Lavinia explained. “As for why I’m offering it to you in this way, you can see it as a Magic User’s curiosity.”
“Curiosity?” Tenraku repeated, furrowing his brows.
“Yes, curiosity. A Magic User who lacks basic curiosity and a spirit of exploration can never become a qualified Magic User,” Lavinia explained, her eyes gleaming with curiosity and even excitement as she stared at Tenraku.
“Because of this reason, which may seem absurd, but I feel like everything you’ve said is true, Lavinia San,” Tenraku chuckled wryly, shaking his head.
It was said that many Magic Users were eccentric and stubborn individuals who often did things that were hard for ordinary people to understand. Tenraku was starting to understand that a little.
“Of course, if it were merely out of curiosity, I would find it difficult to make such a decision. After all, the Eternal Ice Princess – Absolute Demise is also a crucial part of my power. I wouldn’t have the courage to abandon it just because of a little curiosity,” Lavinia continued. “However, you’ve perfectly resolved this issue, Red Dragon Emperor.”
“Resolved it?” Tenraku looked puzzled.
“Red Dragon Emperor, you not only have the ability to take others’ Sacred Gears but also to share your own Sacred Gear’s power with others,” Lavinia explained.
“Princess Rias and Princess Sona can use the power of the Two Heavenly Dragons, and there are many in your Peerage who have been endowed with Sacred Gear abilities by you.”
“Allowing one Sacred Gear to unleash the value of two Sacred Gears, to be honest, your ability is truly impressive, and I can’t help but admire it.”
“If you win against me, I can give you the Eternal Ice Princess – Absolute Demise. But I also have a condition, and that is you must share the Eternal Ice Princess – Absolute Demise with me again. This way, I can satisfy my curiosity without losing important power. It’s a win-win situation,” Lavinia said, causing Tenraku’s eyes to light up.
Indeed, this was a win-win solution! Since someone was so kind as to offer him their Sacred Gear, it would be unfathomable for him to refuse!
“Then it’s settled!”
“Come on, Lavinia San, let me see just how formidable you are as both a Magic User and a Sacred Gear wielder.” Finally feeling a spark of enthusiasm, Tenraku exclaimed.
“Please teach me a lot, Red Dragon Emperor,” Lavinia said with a slight smile as she conjured a staff in her hand.
With a wave of her staff, several magical arrays unfolded in the air, and countless fireballs shot toward Tenraku like cannonballs.
What a straightforward attack! Tenraku activated Hermes’ Boots, unfurling two pairs of golden divine wings under his feet, and with a few leaps, he dodged the barrage of fireballs in the sky.
Despite her failed attack, Lavinia remained unfazed and unleashed several more magical arrays, causing numerous boulders to rain down on Tenraku.
Boom! The entire training ground trembled as the massive rocks descended from the sky. Though Tenraku managed to dodge in the air, he gradually began to feel the strain. There were simply too many boulders to avoid.
Yet another boulder plummeted toward Tenraku, but this time, he didn’t bother dodging.
“Misty Foot!” With a leap, Tenraku sent out hundreds of slashing waves toward the boulder, shattering all the nearby boulders into pieces.
Though this Misty Foot was not the same as the previous one, its power was impressive. Hermes’ Boots not only enhanced the host’s agility and speed but also augmented such attacks.
As the boulders disappeared from the sky, Thunder and Lightning struck at Tenraku.
While this level of Thunder and Lightning couldn’t cause much harm to Tenraku, being hit by it would still be unpleasant. So, Tenraku quickly activated his innate barrier to block all the Thunder and Lightning assaults.
“Lavinia San, are your attacks incapable of harming me?” Tenraku chuckled from above, looking down at Lavinia below.
“Not necessarily. Take a look beneath you, Red Dragon Emperor,” Lavinia said, a mysterious smile playing on her lips.
Tenraku glanced downward and saw a massive whirlwind forming beneath his feet, growing stronger and stronger.
“Oh no…” Tenraku’s expression changed, realizing he was too late to escape.
The gigantic whirlwind surged into the sky, engulfing and submerging Tenraku in an instant—
“Ahhhhhhhh…”
