EPHS-Chapter 483 The Melancholy Two Heavenly Dragons

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Approaching the end of the term, Yubelluna stood at the podium lecturing and preparing everyone for exams. Near the window, Ophis sat on Tenraku’s lap, sucking on a lollipop and occasionally smacking her lips.

The normally serious high school classroom seemed somewhat surreal with Ophis around, but everyone in the class had grown accustomed to it.

As Tenraku affectionately ruffled Ophis’s head, his mind was immersed in his own mental sea:

“Ddraig, Albion, what’s been bothering you lately? You both seem down.”

Observing Ddraig and Albion lying together without their usual bickering, Tenraku inquired.

Since returning from the Vampire territory last time, Ddraig and Albion had been acting strangely. Initially, Tenraku didn’t pay much attention, considering they were both female Berserker Dragons, and it was normal for them to have those days every month.

However, to his surprise, this state hadn’t subsided, and recently, both Ddraig and Albion seemed emotionally low, speaking less than usual.

Although it didn’t affect their combat prowess, as they continued to provide power to Tenraku and Rias when needed, as their host, Tenraku felt responsible for checking up on them.

“Partner, you’re the most powerful host Ddraig and I have ever had, and the fastest-growing human we’ve ever seen. Perhaps it won’t be long before you don’t need our power anymore.”

Raising his head, Ddraig spoke.

“Hey, hey, Ddraig, what nonsense are you talking about? You and Albion are my most important assets. How could I not need your power?”

Tenraku wasn’t just being polite; he genuinely believed it.

Although Tenraku now possessed many Sacred Gears and even had several powerful Divine Tools like the Divine Dividing, there was no doubt that he valued the Boosted Gear and Divine Dividing, which housed the souls of Ddraig and Albion, the most. These were the powers he used most frequently in battles.

“Kamiya Tenraku, this has nothing to do with you; it’s between Ddraig and me.”

Albion also spoke, her tone as cold as ever.

“Your problem?”

Tenraku’s confusion deepened.

“Partner, both Albion and I are already dead. We’re just souls residing in the Sacred Gears. Our power source can no longer continue to grow, and maintaining our current state without decay is the best outcome.”

“We recently battled Crom Cruach, who has already grown to the level of a Heavenly Dragon. To be honest, it’s uncomfortable being chased after like this. However, it made Albion and me realize our situation.”

“Your growth has been too rapid, Partner. There’s no exaggeration in saying you’re unprecedented. With your growth, the ways in which we can assist you will diminish. Losing the possibility of growth, we may even become burdensome to you in the future.”

“No, it’s certain that we’ll end up in that situation.”

Ddraig explained to Tenraku, his tone tinged with complexity and desolation.

It was indeed hard to believe that the proud Two Heavenly Dragons would worry about becoming burdens to others, but it was the truth.

They could no longer continue to grow. One day, their powers might be inconsequential to Tenraku!

For proud beings like the Two Heavenly Dragons, this was indeed difficult to accept.

“I see, so you’ve both been troubled by this lately.”

Nodding, Tenraku understood what was going on.

Although it seemed somewhat amusing, Tenraku could understand Ddraig and Albion’s feelings. Moreover, he felt slightly moved.

This guy Ddraig occasionally said some sentimental things!

“Indeed, Ddraig and Albion, you’ve lost the possibility of growth. Even if I were to further develop the abilities of the Sacred Gears, I couldn’t surpass the limit of your power. At this rate, there will come a day when you can’t keep up with my pace.”

“Partner, enough with the sad talk. Hearing you say that is rather heart-wrenching.”

“Hahaha… I’d like to see how sad you both look, Ddraig!”

“Kamiya Tenraku, you truly are a man with a twisted sense of humor.”

“Alright, alright, I’m just kidding. In fact, resolving this matter is quite simple, isn’t it? We just need to resurrect you both!”

Halting his laughter, Tenraku spoke.

“Resurrect you?!”

Ddraig exclaimed in astonishment.

“Yeah, to resurrect you both. Once you’re resurrected, you can continue to grow, right? Then you wouldn’t have to worry about being left behind or becoming a burden to me in the future.”

“Is that even possible?”

Tenraku’s eyes gleamed with radiant light, while Ddraig still seemed somewhat incredulous.

“Ddraig, why have you become so slow-witted lately? Have you forgotten about what happened with Grendel? If Rizevim could use the power of the Holy Grail to resurrect the deceased Evil Dragons, then naturally, I, who also possess the Holy Grail, can do the same.”

“It seems that’s the case.”

Tenraku sighed inwardly, while Ddraig finally wore a look of realization.

“Kamiya Tenraku, if you were to resurrect Ddraig and me, wouldn’t you worry about us betraying you or leaving you? You should know that if we were to be resurrected, we wouldn’t be bound by the Sacred Gears anymore.”

Albion spoke, staring directly at Tenraku.

“Hmph, dare you!”

“If you dare to betray me, I’ll beat you until I’m satisfied! If you dare to run away, I’ll chase you to the ends of the earth!”

“You both belong to my power. Just obediently serve me for eternity!”

With a smirk, Tenraku seemed completely unconcerned about these matters.

“Hahaha… That’s indeed your style, Partner!”

Laughing heartily, Ddraig’s thunderous laughter echoed throughout the mental sea.

To become the master of the Two Heavenly Dragons, one must indeed possess such dominance!

After silently observing Tenraku for a while, Albion eventually remained silent.

After school, when Tenraku mentioned Ddraig and Albion’s situation to Rias, both girls were incredibly shocked to hear that Tenraku wanted to resurrect Ddraig and Albion. In the past, Rias and Sitri Sona would never have agreed to such a crazy idea.

The legendary Two Heavenly Dragons were notorious figures. Although they were not as brutal and bloodthirsty as the Evil Dragons, they were both very temperamental. They often caused trouble and disasters with their frequent fights, to the point where even Angels, Fallen Angels, and Devils had to join forces to confront them during ancient wars.

However, now Rias didn’t object.

Having experienced many battles together, both girls had long regarded Ddraig and Albion as companions. Moreover, with the terrifying Dragon God-sama already in their household, adding two more Heavenly Dragons didn’t matter much. As long as Tenraku was there, they didn’t have to worry about any trouble.

The decision to resurrect Ddraig and Albion was thus made, but many preparations would be needed to truly bring them back…
