“Cao Cao, what do you want to achieve by summoning that Dragon God?” Tenraku asked with a frown.
“You know it too, right? Our boss, Ophis, wants to return to the dimensional rift and to do that, we must find and defeat the True · Red Dragon God Emperor,” Cao Cao replied with a relaxed smile.
“Hmph, you use Ophis’ purity and innocence as a puppet for your own purposes,” Tenraku sneered.
“Well, you’ve seen through it. Indeed, whether we can actually summon the True · Red Dragon God Emperor or not, this unprecedented summoning ritual alone can provide us with interesting data,” Cao Cao explained. “Moreover, if we can summon that Dragon God-sama, it would be great for us to conduct experiments on the impact of Dragon Eaters on the True · Red Dragon God Emperor…”
Rubbing his chin, Cao Cao continued, “Of course, it will cause a lot of trouble for the Yōkai in Kyoto and others, but that’s unavoidable. After all, we are the so-called terrorists in your eyes. Doing such things is only natural for us.”
“Hē hē, it sounds quite reasonable when he puts it that way.” Tenraku found himself momentarily speechless.
“By the way, Kamiya Tenraku, are you interested in joining us?” Cao Cao suddenly changed the topic, leaving Tenraku and the girls puzzled.
“I heard that your Hero Faction only recruits humans as allies, rejecting Devils, Fallen Angels, and even other races of terrorists. So why invite me, a Devil?” Tenraku asked.
“Kamiya Tenraku, do you know the purpose behind all my actions? I want to explore the limits of humanity, the weak yet tenacious race. That’s why I have gathered a group of human companions because it would be meaningless without humans,” Cao Cao explained.
“I have also looked into your background, and honestly, I am very interested in you. As a hybrid of a human and the great Devil Phenex, it’s incredible that your powerful Devil Bloodline is actually suppressed by a weak human Bloodline. It’s a truly miraculous phenomenon!”
It was the first time someone referred to his worthless attributes as a miracle, and Tenraku couldn’t help but feel a mix of amusement and exasperation at the moment. But Cao Cao’s excitement grew, and he continued, “Moreover, your Sacred Gear is also very special. It can seize other Sacred Gears infinitely.”
“In the past, others thought you could only seize Sacred Gears, and although that ability was terrifying, it wasn’t given much attention because having too many seized Sacred Gears would become a burden for you. However, I noticed some anomalies. From the data of your previous Sacred Gear seizures, it seems that each Sacred Gear you seize increases your strength. The higher the level of the Sacred Gear, the more obvious the power increase.”
“While it was just a speculation before, seeing you seize Leonardo’s [Demonic Beast Creation – Annihilation Maker] made me completely sure. Kamiya Tenraku, your ability not only allows you to seize other Sacred Gears and obtain their abilities but also to enhance your own power with them. Am I wrong?!”
Cao Cao stared intensely at Tenraku, his voice resolute. Except for Asia and the other girls who were already aware of Tenraku’s secrets, everyone in the room displayed a look of immense shock on their faces and it was as if they were looking at a monster.
It was the first time someone had seen through him so thoroughly and Tenraku couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. No wonder Azazel had said that the most dangerous aspect of Cao Cao was not the [True Longinus] in his hand but Cao Cao himself. Both his insight and analytical skills were unsettling!
If this secret had been exposed before, many factions would have tried to hinder Tenraku’s growth, causing him a great deal of trouble. But now he had no fear. Even if it was exposed, what would it matter? He already possessed the power to control his own destiny!
“That’s right, that’s also my ability. Any Sacred Gear can enhance my strength. That’s why I keep seizing other people’s Sacred Gears!” Tenraku’s lips curled upwards as he spoke, and many members of the Hero Faction behind Cao Cao couldn’t help but gasp in shock.
Among them, many were Sacred Gear wielders. If before they were just extremely wary of Tenraku, who held the title of “Sacred Gear Plunderer,” now they were completely terrified. This guy seemed like a natural-born monster designed to hunt them down!
“Just as I thought!”
“Kamiya Tenraku, you are more like a human than a Devil. The Sacred Gear you possess surpasses even the Longinus Sacred Gears. It’s unimaginable what would happen if you were allowed to continuously plunder other Sacred Gears and grow. You might even become a God like in the Holy Bible!”
“How about it? Join us, Kamiya Tenraku. If you sincerely join us in our pursuit of the pinnacle of humanity, you can take any of the Sacred Gears held by the Hero Faction. I can even give you my [True Longinus] without any problem.”
“And, you like women, don’t you? Your subordinates are all beautiful women. We also have many fine women in the Hero Faction, and they are all pure virgins. If you join us, I can introduce them to you. They shouldn’t refuse to follow a strong individual like you who has infinite potential.”
Cao Cao’s words were shocking, causing the female members behind him to blush simultaneously. Although they felt embarrassed, many of them started looking at Tenraku with intense and heated gazes.
“Cao Cao, aren’t you afraid of hurting the feelings of your subordinates with those words?” Tenraku couldn’t help but twitch his mouth and speak.
“Kamiya Tenraku, I have never regarded them as my subordinates. We have all come together as partners for a common purpose. We are all searching for the ultimate potential of humanity and seeking the meaning of our own existence. Don’t misunderstand me as one of those mediocre villainous characters,” Cao Cao corrected with a serious expression.
There was no hint of hypocrisy, and Tenraku had to admit that Cao Cao possessed the aura of a conqueror and the talent to lead. Regardless of good or evil, everything he did followed his own faith. It was this faith and aura that infected those around him and made them willingly follow him in the exploration of the elusive limits of humanity.
And as he had said, this group of faithful individuals was not to be trifled with like those mediocre villainous characters. As enemies, they were extremely troublesome!
Taking a slight breath, Tenraku spoke up:
“Cao Cao, although your proposal does make me somewhat tempted, I…”
“I refuse!”
