In the top-floor room of the hotel, Tenraku, Azazel, Rossweisse, and the others were discussing their battle plan against the Hero Faction.
“We’ve received information that there are many terrorist members of the Hero Faction in Kyoto. It seems that the forces we’ve brought here are still insufficient,” One of them said.
“The forces in other areas are also stretched thin. We can’t gather any more reinforcements,” Added another.
“I just received news that a group of remnants from the Old Demon King Faction has caused a riot in Gremory’s territory. Rias and her Peerage have gone back to the Underworld to help suppress it, so they can’t come here now,” Explained someone else.
“Well, it looks like we have to rely on ourselves then…” Tenraku muttered.
After much deliberation, they decided to divide their forces into three groups. Serafall would lead a portion of the Devil, Angel, Fallen Angel, and Yōkai forces to defend the outskirts of Kyoto, preventing enemy reinforcements and escape within the city. Sona Sitri’s Peerage, including Sona, Yura Tsubasa, Meguri Tomoe, Hanakai Momo, and Kusaka Reya, would join Serafall in this mission.
Azazel would lead the remaining forces to patrol and guard the skies above Kyoto, ready to deal with any unexpected situations and the Hero Faction members who might cause chaos in various locations.
The last group consisted of Tenraku and the girls, who would go to Nijō Castle to stop Cao Cao and his companions’ experiment.
“Young man, although you have the greatest burden and are a bit short on manpower, I believe you’ll find a way to handle it. We all trust in you!” Azazel patted Tenraku on the shoulder and said with a teasing smile.
Tenraku smirked, knowing full well that Azazel had included Katerea, the female magicians, and even another Peerage that he had yet to use in his assessment. Otherwise, it would be foolish for him to confront Cao Cao’s group with just Asia, Rossweisse, and Raynare, only to be overwhelmed.
“I will handle Cao Cao, but remember that any captured Sacred Gears must be handed over to me,” Tenraku stated, as many members of the Hero Faction possessed various Sacred Gears, which was his only requirement.
“I won’t forget, I won’t forget. HāHāHā…” Azazel chuckled.
It was getting late, so after finalizing their plans, everyone immediately set their plans into motion. Azazel and Serafall left first to deploy their forces, while Tenraku had other matters to attend to before he could join them.
By evening, Tenraku and the others would inevitably engage in battle with Cao Cao and his group at Nijō Castle. The entire city of Kyoto could become a battlefield. Kunou had returned to the Capital to arrange the evacuation of Kyoto’s residents and bring them to safety. As for the Sensei and students who had come for the School Trip, they were under Tenraku’s care and arrangement.
Leaving only a barrier behind would still pose a danger, so Tenraku had Rossweisse use sleep magic on all the Sensei and students and then gathered them into the Saints and Demons Hall. Even the girls from the Kendo Club were no exception to this.
“Club President, I’m strong now too! I want to help!” Kiryuu Aika clung to Tenraku and insisted on joining.
Although her enthusiasm was commendable, Tenraku couldn’t help but respond, “The enemies this time aren’t like the Yōkai under Kunou. Do you really think you’re that powerful? Any random opponent would crush you a hundred times over. Just stay inside and behave.”
Without further ado, amidst the girl’s protests, Tenraku tossed Kiryuu Aika into the Saints and Demons Hall as well.
“That should do it. Let’s set off,” Tenraku said.
It was already late at night, and Tenraku and the girls prepared themselves before heading to Nijō Castle. With a pair of Scarlet Dragon Wings spread behind him, Tenraku carried Asia and soared into the sky. Raynare transformed into her Fallen Angel form, while Rossweisse donned her Valkyrie battle attire, following closely on either side of Tenraku.
“Kunou, what are you doing here?” Tenraku asked, halting in his tracks as he saw Kunou flying towards them.
“Tenraku-Sama, please take me with you,” The kitsune princess requested, floating before Tenraku with a shimmering aura.
“Weren’t you supposed to handle things with the Yōkai?” Tenraku inquired.
“I’ve already asked Fox Immortal and Karasu-Tengu to help. I want to go with you to save Okaa-Sama,” Kunou explained.
“We’ll be fighting the enemy soon, and it’ll be dangerous for you to come along,” Tenraku cautioned.
“I’ll protect myself. Please, Tenraku-Sama,” Kunou pleaded.
“I’m really worried about Okaa-Sama. I… I…” Her voice filled with desperation and tears welled up in her eyes as she mentioned her own mother.
“Tenraku-san…”
Tenraku sighed, “Hā… You can come with me, but you must follow my orders later.”
“Okay, I’ll listen to everything you say, Tenraku-Sama!” Kunou replied excitedly, feeling relieved that Tenraku agreed.
With Kunou, the little kitsune princess who joined them halfway, the group of five continued their flight. Before long, they arrived above Nijō Castle, and Tenraku and the girls landed on the ground.
Since the evacuation of civilians had already been arranged, Nijō Castle was empty, with no sign of anyone around.
Tenraku raised his hand and suddenly Katerea, dozens of female magicians, and fifteen battle Saintesses led by Semiria all appeared in front of Tenraku.
“Master.”
“Lord Tenraku.”
Having been informed in advance about the night’s battle, the summoned girls showed no surprise. After saluting him, they all stood behind Tenraku.
“It’s been a while, and there’s still no sign of the Hero Faction. Could Cao Cao be deceiving us?” Rossweisse spoke up, standing next to Tenraku.
“No, they’ve already arrived,” Tenraku said with a slight smile.
As Tenraku’s words fell, a hazy mist enveloped the entire sky, and figures began to materialize within the mist.
They were members of the Khaos Brigade’s Hero Faction!
Led by Cao Cao, there were hundreds of them, and Tenraku sensed that even the weakest among them likely possessed the strength comparable to a Middle-Class Devil!
‘Oye Oye, isn’t this a bit too grand?!’ Tenraky silently thought to himself.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, Kamiya Tenraku. We needed some preparations, that’s why you had to wait,” Cao Cao’s voice rang out as he carried the Holy Spear, smiling recklessly.
“Okaa-Sama!” Before Tenraku could say anything, Kunou shouted loudly.
Following the girl’s gaze, Tenraku saw a beautiful woman dressed in a kimono standing next to Cao Cao. With beast ears and a fox tail, she resembled a mature version of Kunou. It was Kunou’s mother, Yasaka.
“Okaa-Sama, it’s me, Kunou! Wake up!” Kunou called out desperately.
Yasaka’s gaze was vacant, and no matter how much Kunou called her, she showed no response, and it was as if she had lost her soul. Kunou glared angrily at Cao Cao, “What have you done to my Okaa-Sama, you bad people?!”
“Sorry, little nine-tailed princess. We need to conduct a small experiment using your Okaa-Sama,” Cao Cao replied.
“Experiment? What kind of experiment?” This time, it was Tenraku’s voice.
“Well, there’s no harm in telling you now. We plan to use the nine-tailed fox in charge as a medium to unleash a massive ritual and summon the legendary Dragon God—True · Red Dragon God Emperor.”
Upon hearing Cao Cao’s response, not only the group of girls, but even Tenraku himself couldn’t help but show a shocked expression.
They actually intend to summon the True · Red Dragon God Emperor otherwise known as The Great Red? Have these members of the Hero Faction lost their f*cking minds?!
