In outer space, a beam of light entered the solar system, and in less than a minute, a spaceship decelerated as it pierced through the sky, making its way into the Earth’s atmosphere.
Without a doubt, it was Talot and others’ spaceship.
It took three months to return to Earth.
Actually, this was already quite a long distance; after all, for this spaceship, traveling from Earth to Planet Namek only took six or seven days. With a three‐month flight, the distance covered was multiplied many times over, because the spaceship’s speed was variable—not fixed.
They arrived at West City on Earth.
The Brief couple and Bulma had long been waiting for the spaceship’s landing.
They had received word of the return ahead of time, and just moments ago Talot and others had sent the latest update.
When the spaceship landed on the launch platform, Talot, Salari, Raditz, and Tights emerged from within.
Before Talot and his companions could say anything, Tights had already excitedly lunged forward.
After all, they were a real family—and after so many years apart, it was impossible for her to control herself.
To avoid disturbing the family reunion, Talot and Salari, with Raditz in tow, exchanged brief greetings with Brief and Bulma before excusing themselves to head to Mount Paozu.
Gine and Kakarot were both there; having returned to Earth, it was especially important for Raditz to go and see them.
……
Mount Paozu.
As a ripple emerged from the space behind Gine.
‘Whoosh~~!!!’ A sound of something cutting through the air rang out.
Gine only sensed some movement behind her; once she detected the three auras, her face lit up with emotion as she quickly turned around to look.
Son Gohan and Goku’s eyes were also immediately drawn in that direction.
The ones who appeared, who were they if not Talot and others.
With Instant Transmission, the three arrived at Mount Paozu in the blink of an eye.
“Talot, Salari! And Raditz… my son!!” Tears welled up in her eyes as Gine’s emotions surged, nearly overwhelming her.
“Aunt Gine, we’re back,” Talot said with a smile.
“Aunt Gine, I missed you so much,” Salari said as she immediately threw herself into Gine’s arms, seeking warmth.
Raditz, on the other hand, was remarkably stoic at this moment; looking at his mother, he clenched his fists, using all his efforts to control his emotions.
“Mom… we finally meet,” Raditz said with a slightly trembling voice; after all, this was the long-awaited reunion between mother and son.
Come to think of it, they hadn’t exactly not seen each other over the years—thanks to frequent video calls—but being physically together was entirely different from chatting over video.
“Mm, welcome home!!” Wiping away her tears, Gine suddenly smiled, “Now that I think of it, you’ve come at just the right time—I prepared plenty of food, planning to preserve some as jerky.”
To Gine, aside from the missing Bardock, all of her family was now here.
She had many things she wanted to say, but they are not important at the moment.
The exchange of glances, the mutual understanding, when emotions reach a certain stage, there is no longer any desire to make extravagant requests.
And at that moment, everyone’s gaze was fixed on Kakarot.
For them, it was true that they hadn’t seen Kakarot in all these years.
Even when it came to video calls, it was Gine who would go to Brief’s house every now and then and use Brief’s equipment to make contact.
As for the arrival of the three, Kakarot was visibly uncomfortable, and even timidly clung to Son Gohan’s pant leg.
He was still young and knew nothing; his instinctive wariness of strangers was unlike in his infancy when the guidance of bloodline made him feel close to Talot and Salari.
“Kakarot, you really look just like dad,” Raditz muttered.
Recalling the words from back then, he felt exceptionally sentimental.
He looked at Son Gohan again; he wished to say but didn’t know how to express it; after much internal struggle, he simply met Son Gohan’s gaze and nodded.
It could be considered his acknowledgment of him—at least, there was no hostility.
Then, Raditz pressed a button on the Earth version of scouter.
“Beep beep beep beep…”
Power level: 50.
“From a power level of only 2 points to a power level of 50, although it is quite ordinary, I didn’t expect you to improve so much,” Raditz said, chuckling. Then he added, “No matter if you become strong or weak in the future, you are my brother, and I will protect you.”
He remained the same Raditz who loved his family and took on responsibility.
He did not care at all about his little brother’s weak strength.
“You’re my brother?” Goku, hearing Raditz’s words, started to develop a favorable impression of him.
Although this big brother said he was weak, he roughly understood what Raditz meant.
Namely, that he was his big brother, and he would protect him.
Upon hearing Goku’s question, Raditz proudly folded his arms and said, “Remember to call me big brother from now on.”
“Big brother…” After a moment’s hesitation, Goku suddenly seemed to come to a realization and shouted, “Okay!”
Nearby, Gine, witnessing the interaction between Raditz and Kakarot, smiled contentedly and happily.
She had been worried that after all these years, Raditz’s personality would have drastically changed due to his experiences in the universe.
But now, it appeared that her concerns were unfounded.
Raditz was still her Raditz; he hadn’t changed at all.
Gine was also thankful to Talot, for she knew that he had played a part in this.
Otherwise, who could tell what would have become of Raditz.
Soon, everyone sat around the dining table, enjoying dinner together.
Food wasn’t exactly plentiful for the three Saiyans who had suddenly joined in.
But it certainly wasn’t too little either; moreover, Talot and others had also brought some alien food.
Everyone immersed themselves in this joyful atmosphere, their faces beaming with long-missed smiles.
No pressure, no threat, and no need to worry about trivial matters.
At this moment, Talot, Salari, and Raditz became completely relaxed, savoring the wonderful moment of reuniting with their family.
……
Time flew by, and before they knew it, it was the next day.
Because the first night had gone so well, the two brothers ended up sleeping side by side.
Early the next morning, Raditz began his “child-rearing” journey with Kakarot.
Fortunately, Talot had already told Raditz about Kakarot’s matter, so he didn’t act rashly and took everything slowly.
After all, the older brother’s power level was 45,000, while the younger was only 50.
Of course, compared to the original work, it was still five times stronger—after all, when 12-year-old Goku first appeared, his power level was only 10.
Talot sighed; no one really knew what he was thinking.
Thinking of the original work’s Goku and comparing him to now, he had no idea just how far things would develop in the future.
Firstly, the early bosses wouldn’t pose any threat to Goku anymore.
Secondly, the arrival of the Great Demon King Piccolo…
Talot could easily imagine that when that guy appeared, facing a Goku whose power level might break past one thousand, he might curse Pilaf, “What the heck are you doing letting me out? Hurry up and send me back!”
Thirdly, without Raditz going to Earth to find Kakarot, there would be no later invasion of Earth by Vegeta and Nappa because of the Dragon Balls, and no subsequent Frieza invasion of Planet Namek.
So, to drive the plot forward, it would all depend on him—this butterfly.
At this point, Talot had long come to terms with it; even if he couldn’t completely control the pace of the plot to “cheat”, the future was still in his hands!
