“Although it’s hard to believe, the report is not wrong—the scouter exploded when it reached a reading of 22,000. I’ve triple-checked it.”
“The latest information we’ve received confirms that Vegeta and Nappa were not killed and have safely left Planet Dadala. However, the Saiyan with a power level of only 900, Raditz, was taken away. It’s unclear why those two Saiyans only took the weakest of them.”
As Zarbon spoke, Dodoria’s face turned pale, and cold sweat dripped down.
If even a young Saiyan can be this strong, doesn’t that mean their existence is becoming a dire threat?
In the past, the concern was that the Saiyan race would continue to grow stronger, and more and more warriors with formidable power levels appear one after another.
Now, a power level exceeding 10,000 is no longer their limit. Warriors with over 20,000 have appeared—and they aren’t even Vegeta but other surviving Saiyans.
Not only Dodoria, but Zarbon couldn’t help but recall the legend they had once investigated: the Super Saiyan.
“Hoh hoh hoh hoh~~~!!” Frieza’s laughter rang out as the two wore grave expressions.
The laughter sent chills down Zarbon and Dodoria’s spines, filling them with immense pressure.
Being close to Frieza is like being close to a tiger; no one could guarantee that he wouldn’t vent his anger on them in the next moment.
“It’s just a measly power level of 22,000. Look how frightened you are! Even if their power level exceeds that number, as long as you, Zarbon, and Dodoria, work together, you can kill them all the same.
“Don’t lose confidence over some numbers. If I’m not mistaken, you two were just recalling that silly legend, weren’t you?
“Super Saiyan? If a so-called Super Saiyan only has a power level of 22,000, then that’s pathetically weak. Hoh hoh hoh hoh~~~!!”
As Frieza’s words ended, Zarbon and Dodoria immediately dropped to one knee in fear.
They weren’t fools. Having served by Frieza’s side for years, they knew better than to take his words at face value.
“You are absolutely right, Lord Frieza! These insignificant Saiyan monkeys are nothing. Once we are sure of the targets, I will personally eliminate them to prevent future troubles,” Zarbon said, nodding.
Dodoria might have been genuinely afraid, but Zarbon wasn’t. After all, his power level was 23,000!
For power levels above 20,000, the disparity in numbers didn’t scale the same way as it did below that threshold.
Even a difference of 1,000 points could be substantial.
Moreover, with his transformation, his power level could reach 28,000!
“No need to be so nervous, Zarbon. I trust in your abilities and your loyalty to me!
“That said, I am quite curious about these two young Saiyans who suddenly appeared. How did they manage to achieve a power level exceeding 22,000? If we could capture them and interrogate them…”
“Ah, that reminds me of the time I destroyed Planet Vegeta. The Saiyan who resisted until the very end seemed to have a power level exceeding 30,000…”
Frieza’s words stirred memories for both Zarbon and Dodoria.
The scene from back then was still vivid in their minds, as if it had happened yesterday.
That Saiyan who resisted to the end, according to data, had a power level far beyond 30,000!
Since then, Zarbon had kept a close watch on the power level changes of Vegeta’s squad.
Frieza was extremely arrogant, a trait born of his absolute power and high status.
To Frieza, the Saiyan prince was nothing more than a dog he kept on a leash.
The few Saiyans who had survived by sheer luck—how much trouble could they possibly cause?
Everything was just his collection of toys!
Yet Zarbon knew that if the Saiyan squad’s talent and strength ever surpassed his, his own position would be at risk.
Dodoria, standing to the side, didn’t dare to speak.
Compared to Zarbon, he was far more timid.
When it came to intellect, he couldn’t compete with Zarbon either.
“Lord Frieza, are you planning to capture them and ask how they’ve increased their power level?” Zarbon inquired cautiously.
But after exchanging a glance with Frieza, Zarbon quickly understood what he had to do and continued, “I will investigate immediately and ensure they are captured in the shortest time possible!”
As soon as he finished speaking and was about to act, Frieza chuckled mockingly.
“Zarbon, you should stay by my side. The next stretch of this space travel will be long. My elder brother has requested my presence in the West Area, and apparently, Father is already on his way there as well.
“Regarding the Saiyan matter, let’s dispatch the Ginyu Force to handle it. It so happens that I summoned them a few days ago. It will prevent them from being bored and complaining about having nothing to do.”
Frieza’s calm tone carried a hint of coldness.
Of course, that chill wasn’t directed at Zarbon or the Ginyu Force but rather at his elder brother, Cooler.
Hearing this, Zarbon nodded respectfully and left to relay the orders.
Dodoria, on the other hand, stayed by Frieza’s side, still apprehensive.
He was the kind of person who only knew how to follow orders.
……
In the space…
The spaceship cruised steadily through the starry expanse.
You might wonder: after traveling for such long durations, where does a spaceship’s energy come from?
This was something Talot didn’t understand. In short, it means that the spaceship was capable of self-absorption and energy conversion.
Even if it really needs to convert energy due to a lack of some substance, he only needs to inject the raw materials prepared by Brief into the spaceship.
Inside the spaceship…
After a day’s time, Raditz not only gained a certain understanding of Talot and Salari but also learned about the events that had transpired over the past three years.
Under Talot and Salari’s arrangement, he even had a video call with his mother, Gine, on Earth and saw his younger brother, Kakarot.
It was hard to believe, almost inconceivable to him.
He had thought his entire family was dead. Yet, not only were they alive, but they were living far better than he ever had.
Most notably, Talot had far surpassed him, leaving him in the dust, and even Salari’s strength had reached a level he could only dream of.
Raditz felt quite frustrated.
He recalled the parting words he had spoken back then—to have a good fight the next time they met.
With his power level not even reaching 1,000, he wasn’t even capable of giving Talot a scratch.
Talot could kill him with a single finger.
Fortunately, Talot’s words of encouragement gave him hope that he, too, could become incredibly strong.
This filled Raditz with a sense of anticipation for his own future.
He firmly believed that if Talot and Salari could achieve such heights, so could he!
Raditz’s thinking was a bit simplistic, because with his strength, even gravity training was extremely difficult for him.
Reaching the same level as Salari would take at least one or two years.
Moreover, Salari had undergone the Unlock Potential by Planet Namek’s Grand Elder and had also learned the methods of training ki.
Without such advantages, even if he adapted to a hundred times gravity through his own efforts, Raditz’s power level would, at most, barely reach 20,000.
“So, this is the method for training Ki? This is how you hide your power level?” Raditz exclaimed in shock after hearing Talot explain the fundamentals of Ki training.
To him, it was utterly mind-blowing.
He had never imagined there was a way to control one’s power level.
It was now clear that Ki training was one of the ways Talot and Salari have grown stronger.
“Hiding your power level is just the most basic of basics! The essence of Ki training lies in learning to control your Ki, to sense it… Through training, our aura continuously grows stronger, allowing us to control our strength at will in battle, capable of instantly concealing or unleashing it!”
“Imagine this: if your displayed power level is only 1,000 but you can unleash a strength of 2,000, you’ll be able to defeat opponents far stronger than you.”
Talot continued explaining to Raditz, passing down his knowledge to help Raditz avoid any unnecessary detours in the future.
Talot’s words filled Raditz with immense excitement.
“Got it! With you two as my guides, I will definitely not hold you back!” Raditz nodded and began to think seriously.
“For now, try sensing your aura. It shouldn’t be too difficult for you.” Talot first gave him a goal to work toward, and once he accomplished that, he would let him experience gravity training.
In truth, training was a deeply personal journey, and how far Raditz could go would ultimately depend on his own efforts.
And so, Raditz’s training began from this very moment.
