Starting from West City, Talot headed eastward.
Every few hundred to a thousand kilometers, Talot would use the Dragon Radar to check if there was any signal from the Dragon Balls within range.
The plan was to first follow the map he was familiar with and go to Mount Paozu to retrieve the Four-Star Dragon Ball, and at the same time, meet Kakarot and Son Gohan.
Although he wasn’t sure at what exact time Kakarot hit his head in the original work, it could have happened at any point in time.
To be honest, Talot initially thought that the incident occurred one or two months after Kakarot was picked up by Son Gohan.
Now that time had passed, and having been on Earth for over three months, it meant that about six months had gone by since Kakarot’s arrival.
He continued his journey.
After ten minutes or so, without realizing how many times he had traveled a thousand kilometers, the Dragon Radar suddenly picked up a dragon ball signal.
【This direction doesn’t seem to be Mount Paozu. From here, if I travel another two thousand kilometers east, I should reach Mount Paozu. This spot, if I’m not mistaken, should be north of Mount Paozu… The north, that’s right! In the original work, the first Dragon Ball Bulma found with the Dragon Radar was the Five-Star Ball, located in a large canyon in this direction.】
With a clear idea in his mind, Talot’s Ki erupted and he headed straight in the direction indicated by the Dragon Radar.
Before he knew it, he had crossed more than a thousand kilometers and arrived in the northern mountains. A long, narrow canyon stretched out in front of him.
Descending from the sky, Talot adjusted the Dragon Radar’s scanning range to within a hundred meters.
This was the limit after minimizing the range. Bulma had always focused on expanding the scanning range, never thinking of refining it down to a specific meter.
Within the hundred-meter range, it was still quite difficult to locate the dragon ball, but Talot had a way. He had brought Bulma’s Two-Star Dragon Ball with him. When Dragon Balls are close to each other, they resonate and emit a glow. So, even in a hundred-meter range, it would be easy to find.
While walking through the canyon, Talot also encountered some mountain spirits and monsters.
In this era, especially in these eastern mountains, many such creatures existed on Earth.
In the end, they were just beasts that had suddenly become enlightened, gaining intelligence not inferior to humans.
Of course, to Talot, they were mere ants. Even if their power level reached nearly 10, or even higher, they were only strong by Earthling standards.
He found the Five-Star Dragon Ball on a barren stretch of land in the canyon. Without lingering, Talot took off into the sky.
Now that he had this Dragon Ball, the next step was to head to Mount Paozu.
…
Meanwhile, on the Lookout.
Kami appeared deeply worried.
He hadn’t expected that an Earthling could really invent something like the Dragon Radar, especially not a five-year-old girl.
Initially, he thought it might be a hoax. But now, seeing Talot cross half the planet to find the Five-Star Dragon Ball, Kami had no choice but to believe it.
“Kami-sama, if this keeps up, Talot will soon reach Mount Paozu and meet that child named Kakarot,” Popo said, standing beside Kami.
Having hidden this for so long, the search for the Dragon Balls was now leading Talot to Kakarot.
Kami sighed, “Sometimes, making one wrong move leads to many others. Mr. Popo, do you think I should have told them about that child from the very beginning?”
“Kami-sama only had Earth’s best interests in mind. Without these months of observation, no one could have been sure what kind of aliens Talot and his group really were,” Popo reassured.
Kami nodded. He had been trying to find balance, but his unease stemmed from the fact that he had lied, deceiving both Talot and the others.
As time passed, it became clear that all his cautiousness and suspicion had been unnecessary, and guilt had started to weigh on him.
“I just hope they won’t make any excessive wishes,” Kami murmured, now troubled about the potential wishes that could be made.
…
Mount Paozu.
Talot had finally arrived at the mountain where the original storyline began.
Looking down from the sky, there was no sense of familiarity.
The reason was simple: the real world looked nothing like the scenes from the anime or manga he remembered in his past life.
The anime and manga could only depict so much. What Talot saw now were towering peaks stretching endlessly across the land.
It wasn’t until Talot used his Ki Sense to lock onto the auras of Son Gohan and Kakarot that he finally identified which mountain was Mount Paozu and where Son Gohan’s house was located.
Upon seeing the simple yet distinct house, Talot smiled knowingly.
【Finally, we’re going to meet, Kakarot. Are you still Kakarot, or have you already become Goku?】 Talot thought to himself, as he quickly descended from the sky, landing on the open space in front of the house.
Inside, Son Gohan seemed to have sensed something. He stepped out of the door and met Talot’s gaze.
“This is quite rare. No one ever visits me out here. Six months ago, a baby suddenly appeared, and now another child shows up,” Son Gohan’s voice was kind and gentle, making Talot feel an indescribable warmth.
As soon as Talot heard this, he looked inside the house, where a baby was crawling on the floor. Who could it be if not Kakarot?
Meeting Kakarot’s gaze, Talot already had a feeling in his heart.
Something must have happened to him. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be looking at me like he doesn’t recognize me!
“Hello, Earth’s martial artist. Let me introduce myself. My name is Talot, and I come from a distant planet of Saiyans. I want to thank you for taking care of my… hmm, let’s say, little brother.” Talot spoke first.
Hearing this, Son Gohan was immediately surprised. He glanced back and forth between Talot and Kakarot, and then he recalled the scene when he found Kakarot, resolving some of his doubts.
“I see now. I was wondering how a baby could fall from the sky in this remote wilderness. It turns out he’s an alien. No wonder he’s so strong for his size, has a tail, and eats so much.” Son Gohan knelt down and picked up Kakarot, then continued, “Saiyan, huh? So, you’re here to take this child back?”
Talot was taken aback by Son Gohan’s expression and his words. He hadn’t expected him to be so composed.
“You can sense my aura, right? Aren’t you the least bit afraid?” Talot asked.
Son Gohan shook his head with a gentle smile: “Your aura is strong, but there’s no malice in it, so I know you’re not here seeking revenge or intending harm to Son Goku.”
“Son Goku?” Talot feigned confusion.
“It’s the name I gave him—Son Goku. My name is Son Gohan,” Son Gohan replied.
