If someone else had said this to her, Ulti would have thought they were joking, but the one who said it was Yamato. If it was her, then she probably really meant it.
The cabin became noisy once again, but this did not affect the Millennial Dragons’ pace. While the cloud cover concealed them from the warships below, the Millennial Dragons changed direction, flying past the fleet and heading far into the distance.
At this moment, the sky also began to look strange. From afar, it was no different from the surrounding sea, but as they approached, they realized it was a mirage-like illusion.
The leading Millennial Dragon disappeared into thin air as it crossed this area, vanishing from everyone’s sight.
“Huh? Does East Blue have special sea areas like this too? I thought only the Grand Line had such bizarre weather.”
Though curious, Yamato was not surprised.
The New World was special not only for its unpredictable weather but also for its magical islands.
Aside from bizarre weather like raining knives, there are some islands filled with invisible air bridges. It seems like there is nothing, but people can run freely on them.
Some islands have unique gravity environments, and some were even entirely made of food.
All of this had been attributed to the wonders of the Grand Line, but now it seemed she had underestimated this world.
“Ferren, is this the Lost Island? It looks kinda… desolate.”
After passing through a stormy region, a desolate island came into view. If this was their destination, Yamato found it rather disappointing.
“Roar~”
Ferren’s father let out two low roars, and Ferren began translating his words.
“Father says this is an island he often visited as a child. Back then, there was an ancient human dynasty here.”
“Because of the mirage-like barrier surrounding this place, its inhabitants lived in seclusion, completely uninvolved with the outside world’s conflicts.”
“We Millennium Dragons often passed by this place. The people here regarded us, beings capable of flight, as mysterious creatures and treated us with great reverence. But now, everything is different.”
The Millennial Dragons have incredibly long lifespans, and some people would go their entire lives without ever seeing one. To the older Millennial Dragons, this island was like a small convenience store near home.
After spending years roaming outside, they would always want to come back and revisit childhood memories. But for humans, the return of the Millennial Dragons was far too distant. By the time they came back, everything had already changed beyond recognition.
“Speaking of which, that place looks a lot like a castle.”
“Father says it used to be a human kingdom. There are also some interesting murals inside. If you’re interested, you can go take a look.”
Just then, a flock of small birds flew past them, apparently having proactively approached after seeing the Millennial Dragons.
Though they were about the same size as ordinary birds, their appearance bore some resemblance to the true form of the Millennial Dragon.
“Ferren, are these your offspring?”
“No, you’ve seen the kids in my race before, haven’t you? They’re much bigger than these birds. These are just another species that shares a common ancestor with us, but they’ve always lived here… Wait, there are others on this island.”
A cloud of dust rose from the island, and an unidentified object rapidly descended from above. Upon closer inspection, a figure resembling a Millennial Dragon could be seen on a wooden cart.
It was none other than Luffy and his crew, escorting Grandpa Ryu back to Dragon’s Nest. Following Grandpa Ryu’s directions, they also arrived on this island. However, since Dragon’s Nest had yet to fully reveal itself, and this location was slightly off from its actual position, they had not yet found their destination.
Moreover, Grandpa Ryu had been relentlessly pursued by those coveting the Millennial Dragon’s bones. At this moment, his pursuers had caught up, forcing Luffy and others to make a high-speed descent, with Zoro staying behind to cover their retreat.
…
“What new game are they playing? Grass skiing?”
“Who knows? But it’s good to get some exercise. Let’s go, Pay-tan—time for a fast descent!”
After unbuckling her seatbelt and opening the carriage door, Ulti pressed one hand against her collar, and with the other arm around Page One’s neck, she jumped straight down.
They were only accompanying the Millennial Dragons back home, and now that something unusual had happened below, along with the presence of an unfamiliar Millennial Dragon—there was no way they would just ignore it. So, Ulti grabbed Page One and jumped down.
“Wait, Sister! Can’t you just use your own parachute?!”
“No way! That’s too slow. Besides, using Pay-tan is way more convenient. Pay-tan, you’re the best~”
“I really don’t want to be praised for something like this…”
Though he complained about his sister’s antics, Page One still obediently—or perhaps indulgently—played along.
Over time, they had become more adept at their transformations. In the blink of an eye, they had already completed their transformations.
Powerful jets of air burst from the gaps in his scales as Page One launched himself toward the ground. Ulti took advantage of the wind resistance from her descent to smoothly land on Page One’s back, skillfully gripping his dorsal fin.
The Millennial Dragons and Corviknight also flew downward, but they were much slower compared to Ulti and Page One. After all, Page One was flying with jet propulsion and diving straight down.
…
“Ahhh!”
“I feel like I’m the fastest person in the whole world right now!”
On the small cart carrying Grandpa Ryu, Usopp’s screams spread across the entire island, carried by the wind.
“What’s the point of that?!”
Sanji didn’t agree with Usopp’s perspective. To him, there was absolutely no meaning in it.
“Shut up! Luffy, think of a way to stop this thing! At this rate, the cart’s going to fall apart before we even reach the ship!”
“It’s fine, it’s fine, just trust me. Nothing’s gonna happen.”
“Like hell I’d trust you! Nami, you asked the wrong person—Hercules, do something!”
In a situation like this, it was better to ask Hercules than Luffy. At least it was a bit more reliable than Luffy.
But their panic didn’t last long—someone had already stepped in to stop the cart for them.
Boom!
Page One came crashing down from the sky, planting both feet firmly into the ground. With his arms crossed in front of him, he used his fins like a shield, bringing the speeding cart to an abrupt halt.
Stopping the cart alone wasn’t difficult, but what truly demonstrated Page One’s control over his strength was how he absorbed the impact, preventing the cart from breaking apart on impact.
“You guys…”
“So cool!”
“Uh-huh?”
Seeing the starry-eyed expressions of Luffy and Usopp, Page One found himself completely at a loss for words.
