If it weren’t for Arceus, she would have been dead more than a decade ago. Or rather, in Misu’s heart, she had long considered herself dead.
Arceus became her new faith, as well as her new source of support. In the Arceus Cult, she seemed to be the most rational one, but her inner faith was also the closest to madness.
Faith had become more important to her than life itself. She was willing to die for it, having long since lost all attachments to the world. Because of this, she could unleash the full power of Bitter Blade.
Misu’s aura became unfamiliar, and even Tiger felt a chill.
Although it was a fire-type move, Tiger didn’t sense any warmth. The demonic flames emitted by the Shichiseiken were shrouded by Ceruledge’s flames, and Saga was pierced by the blade on Misu’s arm.
Even though he had been pierced by the blade, there was no blood at the wound. Instead, the mark representing Shichiseiken had completely shattered.
“Sister Misu… didn’t you promise Miss Maya that you wouldn’t harm this person?”
“I didn’t harm him. It just looks frightening, that’s all.”
Misu took two steps back, and Saga collapsed to the ground as if drained of strength. Yet, there wasn’t a single visible wound on his chest.
This was due to the ghost-type abilities inherent to Ceruledge. Many ghost-type Pokemon could achieve this, using their incorporeal nature to avoid causing physical harm. Misu had just utilized this ability.
Of course, she also had ways to inflict physical harm, but she simply didn’t use them just now.
Then, Misu swung her sword several more times into the air. The will that had escaped from Saga’s body was destroyed, and the energy spilling from Shichiseiken was absorbed by her.
This signified that Shichiseiken, the Cursed Sword, had now disappeared from this world. There would no longer be incidents of Shichiseiken corrupting people’s minds.
Afterward, Tiger carried Saga, while Misu, holding the fragments of Shichiseiken, returned to the camp where Maya and the others were waiting.
…
“Old lady, we’ve fulfilled our end of the agreement. What about that matter?”
“You don’t need to worry about it. Just now, those three orbs shattered on their own. With Shichiseiken gone, perhaps they no longer had a purpose to exist.”
As soon as Misu dealt with Shichiseiken, the three orbs shattered on their own. What secrets were hidden within them, no one could say for sure.
With the orbs shattered, the radar in Misu’s hand finally returned to normal. Following the radar’s signal, Misu and Tiger arrived at a lake.
“It should be down there. Sir Tiger, I’ll leave it to you.”
“I understand.”
With the exact location identified, Tiger quickly found a very peculiar plate at the bottom of the lake. His method of searching was simple—just punching the lakebed.
Being a Fish-Man, Tiger’s punching strength wasn’t affected by being underwater. Using this most straightforward method, Tiger swiftly unearthed the plate-like object from the muddy lakebed.
Afterward, Misu discussed the matter of the new faith with them briefly before she and Tiger, along with the knights, departed from the island.
What Saga’s life would be like after his recovery and what the people of the island do in the future was none of their concern for the time being.
When deciding on their next destination, they occasionally resorted to throwing darts to determine the destination, making adjustments to the course afterward. Returning home, however, was much simpler.
But they had traveled a great distance, so it would still take some time to return to Onigashima.
During this period, Tesoro completed a new plan. He had Cavendish eliminate a large number of pirates as evidence of his “atonement” and contacted some news agencies to attribute everything Cavendish did to his alter ego.
This established Cavendish as a pitiable “mentally ill person.” Using upper-echelon economic maneuvering, Tesoro managed to resolve the issue of Cavendish’s bounty, which was followed by Cavendish’s hellish life.
In the past, he had relied solely on his looks to gain fame. However, as he embarked on his journey into the entertainment industry, it became clear that relying on his appearance alone was insufficient. Various teachers began to teach him how to be a proper entertainer, ushering him into a new phase of his life as a trainee.
Meanwhile, the Fish-Men Mining Company made new discoveries.
While mining undersea minerals, Wadatsumi found a Poneglyph in underwater ruins.
Back when Vander Decken IX was dealt with, the enormous Fish-Man Wadatsumi was also incorporated and put to “work” to atone for his previous crimes.
Due to his massive size, Wadatsumi’s working efficiency was unparalleled. One person could easily manage an entire mining site.
While clearing a rock that was in the way, Wadatsumi discovered the mysterious Poneglyph.
In the end, it was sent to the New Fishman Island, and when Tiger returned, it was handed over to him, and along with the plate he had found, he then brought them to Wano Country.
…
“Lord, your followers have finally brought back what you need. May our efforts contribute to the arrival of the new world and hasten the return of your glory.”
The moment the plate neared Wano Country, it was summoned by its master and returned to Arceus’ body. This time, Arceus’ aura became even more steady.
Each plate’s return brings some change to the aura, and this newfound steadiness and thickness were the unique traits granted by the Earth Plate.
This also meant that the 14th plate was of the Ground type.
“Well done. You deserve to be rewarded. Now, Misu, what do you want?”
“Lord, I need nothing. Searching for what you need is our mission. This is but a trivial contribution, and it is the only thing we can do.”
“Very well, I understand. In that case, let me know when you need it. This promise stands forever.”
Although Misu chose not to ask for anything, Arceus could not simply give nothing. Otherwise, the rules established over the years would be meaningless. Not only Misu but the members of the Knights Templar were also entitled to their rewards, and Tiger was naturally included.
“Tiger, you have proven your capabilities and are now qualified to gain a new ability.”
Misu already possessed an ability, so aside from strengthening it, he made an additional promise. Tiger, however, was different.
In the early years, he believed he hadn’t done enough and was therefore unworthy of gaining any ability. But now, he and Misu had found the most important thing, making him fully eligible to receive an ability.
In addition to the plate, Tiger had also brought the Poneglyph. Although it wasn’t a Road Poneglyph, it was still an incredibly important item.
“You are now the strongest on Fishman Island. Do you have the resolve to protect Fishman Island?”
“Of course. Ensuring my people can also stand under the sun has always been my goal.”
“Very good. Then this power is yours—the power of the Hero of the Seas.”
