At the top of Mt. Fuji, besides the statues and snow, there are several frozen lakes. Seeing the thick layer of ice, Machamp used all four of its hands to quickly punch a big hole in the ice, then started its brutal winter swimming.
Winter swimming involves smashing the ice with its arms while swimming, creating a path for itself. This is one of Machamp’s regular training routines. It’s not a Water-type or aquatic Pokémon, but it’s very good at swimming.
Its four powerful arms are extremely useful for swimming, making it almost as fast as the Pokémon that live in the sea.
As Machamp got used to its new body, a few days later, Kaido, who had caused a big scene at the G-1 Base, also returned to Wano Country. However, this time, he didn’t come back riding Hydrachton but transformed into an Azure Dragon, towing back a small Sky Island with his Flame Clouds.
Onigashima’s ground is limited, so over the years, it has been upgraded by being built upward. Now, there was a new floor added on top of Onigashima, which Kaido had prepared for Hydrachton.
He liked this new mount a lot. Whether it was its appearance, personality, or the strength it has displayed, it fit all of Kaido’s expectations.
Using the Island Cloud technology of Skypiea and Rotom’s electronic equipment, this Sky Island quickly became a new territory floating above Wano Country. Kaido also got a big bucket to clean Hydrachton’s back, while it comfortably lay on the Island Cloud.
Although Island Clouds function like land for an Sky Island, they don’t dirty your body like regular soil and are generally more comfortable. Hydrachton really enjoys this feeling.
Just as some Shoguns would bathe and groom their warhorses to strengthen their bond, Kaido was doing something similar. But expecting him to be serious was unrealistic. Soon after, a group of his subordinates arrived, carrying a bunch of alcohol barrels.
“Governor-General Kaido! The alcohol you requested, we’ve brought it!”
A bunch of pirates dismounted from a large Altaria, carrying a significant amount of alcohol, then quickly left. Kaido, after all, posed a great danger to them once he started drinking.
Moreover, for some reason, they felt that this large Pokémon seemed unusually unfriendly, glaring at them fiercely the whole time.
Facing this dual threat, they wisely chose to scram. What they didn’t know was that Hydrachton wasn’t staring at them but at the Altaria. It sensed an indescribable feeling from the other Pokémon.
Before it could think more about it, Kaido had already placed a barrel of alcohol in front of it.
“Come on, after a fight, it’s time to get wasted. You should be able to handle alcohol, right?”
With a wave of his hand, Kaido placed several barrels in front of Hydrachton, one for each of its heads. Those familiar with him would know it’s Kaido, but to others, he might easily be mistaken for Susanoo.
Under Kaido’s temptation, Hydrachton was soon enticed by the fragrance of the alcohol and it stepped toward the abyss.
Even though it had excellent poison resistance and powerful regenerative abilities, it seemed to lack resistance to alcohol. Each of its heads fell to the ground, one after the other, drunk, showcasing what it meant to be knocked out cold by a single drink.
When Arceus arrived, he found a completely drunk Hydrachton, collapsed in a heap, along with a heavily intoxicated Kaido.
Seemingly influenced by Hydrachton, Kaido got drunk much quicker than usual and was lying on the Island Cloud, laughing wildly.
In this relaxed state after drinking, his emotions become very volatile. Luckily, this time he didn’t start crying uncontrollably, as he sometimes would.
“Worororo, get up! Keep drinking! This won’t do, my mount can’t have such a low tolerance for alcohol!”
However, no matter what he did, Hydrachton remained fast asleep, completely unresponsive, even when Kaido slapped it with his large hand.
“Tch, no fun. Worororo, why are you here? Finally decided to get wasted? But you’ll have to wait—I need to check on Yamato’s progress first… hic…”
Seeing Arceus appear, Kaido, as if he’d found a new drinking buddy, staggered over with a barrel of alcohol in his arms, drunkenly muttering his plans.
It was clear that Yamato’s decision had been the right one. She had successfully protected herself by slipping away in advance, though it was only temporary.
But before Kaido could do anything, he quickly experienced the power of the Fighting-type Plate.
…
“So, you’ve regained that ‘amazing’ strength of yours, huh? Do you have any idea how hard it is for me to get drunk?”
Feeling his mind become clear-headed, Kaido frowned. He had been knocked sober in battles before, but this was the first time he had sobered up so completely.
“You’re drunk all the time; how is that hard? But thanks to you, I’ve realized just how useful this move can be.”
Moments earlier, Arceus had gathered energy into his hand and slapped Kaido. The damage wasn’t significant, but it completely sobered him up.
The move was called Wake-Up Slap, a Fighting-type move that deals extra damage to a sleeping target and forces them awake.
At this moment, Arceus realized that the key aspect of Wake-Up Slap was not its focus on the target’s condition, but rather waking them up. Although the drunken state did not fall within the range of damage bonuses, this move could forcibly dispel any drunkenness, returning the target to full sobriety.
“Whatever. Where’s that brat?”
“She predicted when you’d return and slipped away in advance.”
“Worororo, she has been surprisingly clever for once, but she’s still a bit too naive.”
To Kaido, it didn’t matter if Yamato escaped this time; she’ll have to come back. Unless she can reverse the power dynamic between them, Kaido can look for her anytime when he’s drunk.
“You made such a big scene earlier that Tesoro’s side has run into some trouble too. You’re messing with future plans.”
“It’s fine. I know those Marines better than you do. They won’t fall out with us over something like this. Sure, a big war is exciting, but before the main course, you need to enjoy a few appetizers.”
“Anyway, lay low for a while. I’ve found you a new opponent. With these items, you’ll be able to have a good fight.”
As Arceus spoke, he tossed a few golden belts to Kaido. They were specially reinforced power-save belts, but for Kaido, one wouldn’t be enough, so Arceus had prepared three. Besides his waist, he prepared limiters for both of his arms.
“How does it feel?”
“Like my strength is being suppressed. Why didn’t you give me these sooner? With these, I wouldn’t have to hold back when training with Yamato.”
“This is part of the power I’ve recently regained. Perfect timing—get ready to meet your new opponent.”
As Arceus finished speaking, Machamp, who had followed him, was enveloped in the enormous power granted by Arceus, transforming into a towering four-armed giant…
