Before her aching muscles had even recovered, Yamato, who was slumped on the ground, scrambled on all fours and rolled over behind Arceus. This was, in her mind, the safest place, and the only place that could shield her from the enraged Kaido.
Just a few minutes ago, when Arceus arrived on Onigashima, he sensed something was off about the commotion above. Initially, he didn’t think much of it, as such activity was quite common on Onigashima.
Battles often occur on the training ground at the top floor, and small earthquakes within Onigashima were the same as wind and rain, merely “normal” artificial natural phenomena.
But this time, it was clearly a bit excessive. Humans categorize earthquakes based on their destructive power, with lower-level earthquakes being easily ignored, as buildings are typically designed to withstand them.
At first, it was small-scale. Onigashima was constructed with Kaido’s violent personality in mind, so the training ground on the top floor was built with superior resistance.
But as time went on, the intensity of the earthquakes increased noticeably. Even the pirates staying on Onigashima sensed that something was wrong and fled outside to take refuge.
Among them, many were seen running out of the bathhouse wrapped in towels. They all had a good idea of the source of this unusual situation, which only made them more reluctant to stay.
The higher Arceus climbed, the stronger the tremors became. Until just now, when Yamato crashed through the floor and appeared before him.
Looking at the steel bars broken by brute force, Arceus felt a headache coming on. During the reconstruction of Onigashima, a large amount of Arceus Steel was used as building material.
Only these mythical metals could meet the increasingly complex requirements of these buildings and withstand their destructive forces. But now, even the special alloy he created has been broken.
“What did you do?”
“Nothing much, really. I just personally made him something to eat, and then he started going berserk like he’d lost his mind.”
Recalling the empty place on Blisseys, Arceus seemed to understand what Kaido had eaten. At that moment, another tremor came from below as Kaido leaped down from above.
His two whiskers floated backward with the swirling air currents, and his face was full of rage. He had now entered the third stage of drunkenness—Drunken Rage.
“Why did you take it head-on like that? If you’d used a different method, the floor wouldn’t have been damaged!”
The real reason the floor was broken was, of course, Kaido’s strength. But upon closer inspection, this could be considered a side effect of Yamato’s plan. However, in Kaido’s eyes, it was a sign of her “lack of skill”.
She could have used the Protect barrier more flexibly, spreading it under her feet while taking his attack, thus protecting the floor.
Yes, protecting the floor, not herself. In his view, Yamato could take a hit and be fine after a while, but repairing the floor would take time and effort.
As for whether Yamato’s Protect could be mastered to that extent, that wasn’t his concern.
“Dad, look! That b*stard of a father thinks the floor is more important than I am. He’s definitely gone mad; please knock some sense into him!”
Yamato felt completely safe behind Arceus. If even this place wasn’t safe, she didn’t know where else she could hide.
“Yamato, after this, make sure to repair the floor. If there’s even a slight difference, I’ll personally give you extra training.”
“Dad! I’m innocent! I didn’t do anything! It’s Father who’s throwing a drunken fit!”
“If I’m not mistaken, you gave him Blissey’s egg, didn’t you?”
“That’s right, but the Blisseys said that whoever eats the egg would become gentle…”
“That’s why I’m telling you to fix the floor. As for this situation now…”
Arceus’s eyes glowed with a purple light, and he released a strange mist that quickly filled the entire floor.
Kaido’s situation was quite unique. Strictly speaking, Blissey’s egg wasn’t a debuff; it was just a status condition, and one that was considered a beneficial buff. This required special handling.
Clear Smog is a move specifically designed to eliminate the buffs on an opponent, making it the perfect choice for this situation.
“Dad, is it over?”
“Over? Do you really not know what your father is like?”
Although Arceus had dispelled the strange status condition affecting Kaido, he didn’t have the ability to sober him up. Kaido was still in battle mode, and fully charged up.
“You’re back? Perfect timing. There’s no one left on this island who can give me a good fight. Yamato’s still not strong enough, so why don’t you step in?”
Looking at the intoxicated Kaido, Arceus didn’t say anything; he just glanced at Yamato behind him out of the corner of his eye.
“Yamato.”
“I’m here!”
“You’ll also be responsible for fixing that wall later.”
“Huh?”
Before Yamato could grasp the meaning of these words, a huge shock wave pushed her back. Arceus had unleashed a Fairy/Dragon dual-type Judgment.
“Good, this will clear your head. Maybe next time, you’ll think twice before fighting without considering the place!”
Yamato was safe. Arceus had already pushed Kaido away from here with that Judgment attack. He controlled the power of the move, and given Kaido’s physique, nothing serious would happen. They simply moved the battlefield to a different location, sparing Onigashima from being completely destroyed.
Yamato, left behind, stood in a daze. She raised her hand and briefly compared the battlefield’s state. The hole she created was only about two or three meters in diameter—not a big deal.
Then she looked at the massive hole Arceus had created.
“Seems like… I didn’t cause that much damage?”
Whoosh…
A cold wind swept in, and the chilly air from outside blew into Onigashima, creating an eerie sound in the corridors.
“How am I supposed to fix this?”
Clutching her head, Yamato fell into a new wave of despair. But after some time, the construction crew came to her rescue. If she were really tasked with fixing it herself, the structure would’ve been doomed. Arceus just wanted her to help out.
As for Kaido, after a fierce battle, he eventually sobered up. Although he wasn’t fully conscious, he managed to break through.
Kaido had always been a warrior at heart, born for the battlefield. Fighting wasn’t just about strength; it was also about learning. Under the influence of Blissey’s egg, he discovered a unique state.
In this state, he could discard all distractions and fully immerse himself in combat mode. He even found a way to combine it with his Drunken Dragon Bagua state, unleashing even greater power.
From that day on, Kaido began a new round of training, searching for a method to enter that state without relying on external forces. As for the name, for now, it could be called Gentle Bagua or Happy Bagua. He was still pondering a more Haki-sounding name for it.
