APJ Chapter 678 Father and Mother, the Correct Use of Lily Carnation

Before she arrived, her voice arrived first. Shayna’s voice came from afar, and then she came to an abrupt stop in front of Arceus.

“Shayna? Why are you so anxious? This isn’t like you.”

Seeing the anxious Shayna, Arceus found it very unusual. Ever since she left the lab years ago, he had never seen Shayna so anxious, as if she was afraid something bad is going to happen.

“Sorry, Lord Sacred Beast, I lost my composure, but this thing is so rare that I never thought I’d have a chance to see it again.”

Seeing the plant in front of her still in one piece, Shayna finally felt relieved. What she was looking for was right here.

“Are you very interested in this plant?”

Arceus and Darkrai had arrived earlier. Originally, Darkrai thought the aura here was similar to that of the realm of the dead, but upon arrival, he realized he was wrong.

This was not the entrance to the underworld but a stronghold of spirits. This strange plant, through some unknown property, had trapped the souls, and they were incomplete souls at that.

The plant’s wailing just now was caused by Darkrai’s attempt to find an entrance, which caused pain to the plant.

“Lord Sacred Beast, this plant is called Lily Carnation. Long ago, our people referred to it as the Mother Flower, symbolizing deep familial love and remembrance. It is also our way of remembering the past.”

“But later… enemies attacked, and our clan’s numbers dwindled. This flower also gradually disappeared over the long journey. I didn’t expect to find a surviving seed here.”

In front of Arceus, Shayna didn’t hide anything and directly shared her memories about the flower.

While Amalee knowing the matter related to the Lunarians was meaningless and would only bring her danger, Darkrai was a creature created by Arceus, so Shayna felt no need to guard against him.

“Isn’t the body of this flower a bit too large?”

Looking at the plant stem over a hundred meters tall, Arceus was puzzled. Back then, he had never paid attention to how the Lunarian people cultivated such a flower.

“No, Lord Sacred Beast, this is an incorrect way of cultivation. Only when a taboo is violated does the Lily Carnation become like this. This isn’t the correct method. I just want to take its seeds from here.

This isn’t the real name, just something the people in the past couldn’t find a proper name for, so they called it this.

The Lily Carnation can be divided into two parts. Under this incorrect method, the flower and its consciousness would reside in a human body, drawing nutrients through this main body’s stem.

If destroyed, the flower wouldn’t die but would transfer to another part. However, the seeds inside would be destroyed.

Though this flower looks huge, its seeds are very fragile. One wrong move and they’ll be ruined. They can only be extracted using a special method, which is why I was a bit anxious. Please forgive me.”

“No problem, do what you need to do. Darkrai has already confirmed that matter.”

“Then I’ll…”

“Get away from it!!”

Before Shayna could act, a roar suddenly came from behind. Baron Omatsuri had finally arrived after difficulty. Seeing them about to target the top part of Lily Carnation, he let out an angry roar.

He shot several arrows, but they were all absorbed by the black hole Darkrai created.

“Lord Sacred Beast, let me handle this. I’ll take care of everything.”

After getting Arceus’ approval, Shayna examined the huge stem. Then, with flames igniting in her palm, she thrust at a specific spot, and the fire on her shoulder began to burn the plant’s body.

The burning flames were the special method she mentioned. Before the Baron could react, the small flower on his shoulder suddenly emitted a piercing scream.

But it was to no avail. Several seeds had already appeared in Shayna’s palm, while the seemingly huge and sturdy plant part turned to ash abruptly.

Then, Shayna extended one hand, mimicking a gun, and shot a flame at the flower on the Baron’s shoulder. Once the external body was destroyed, the flower on his shoulder became extremely fragile, no different from a wildflower by the roadside, susceptible to destruction by an ordinary person’s attack.

At that moment, the members of the Red Arrows Pirates, who had been besieging the Beasts Pirates members, stopped moving and turned into immobile plants.

Seeing the remnants of the Lily Carnation fall from his shoulder, the Baron was on the verge of an emotional breakdown.

“Lily!! You… you can’t die! If you die… my comrades…”

He tried to extinguish the flames, but it was futile. Shayna’s fire mercilessly reduced it to ashes.

“Wake up, they’re long dead. The Lily Carnation can’t revive the dead. They are merely thought bodies with their behavior patterns and memories. Over the years, you’ve lured and killed many to feed it, haven’t you?”

Looking at the surrounding shipwrecks and the previous size of the plant, Shayna could roughly estimate how many people had died here.

“You b*stard… you don’t understand what this is! After that storm… it was only thanks to Lily and the others that we survived! It’s the flower of death and rebirth. If it weren’t for you… they would have been resurrected!”

During the storm 16 years ago, all of Baron’s subordinates had perished. By chance, he discovered the Lily Carnation here and began his plan.

Sustaining these people required the lives of others, so Baron continuously lured people to the island, using them as food for the flower.

“Poor fool… I hope you and your comrades can reunite on the other side.”

With a swift movement, Shayna snapped Baron’s neck, ending his life.

She called him a fool because he had crazily lured others to their deaths for an illusion. She called him pitiable because of his care and longing for his companions. Surviving alone after the storm, unable to accept the reality, he chose this path.

But Shayna still killed him. His way of feeding the flower had violated the Lunarians’ rules.

Picking up a seed, Shayna pricked her fingertip, letting her blood drip onto it. As the blood fell, the seed quickly sprouted, but it lacked the smiling face of the flower on Baron’s shoulder.

As the seed evolved into a bud, two figures appeared behind the flower. With white hair, brown skin, pure black wings, and blazing flames on their backs, they embodied all the characteristics of the Lunarian people.

“Father, Mother, long time no see…”

This time, Shayna used the correct method. Using her own blood as a medium, she could briefly see the kin in her memories. Even though she knew it was fake, it can temporarily satisfy her longing.
