APJ Chapter 643 Fishman, Half-Fishman, CP5

“Captain Sasaki, what are we waiting for here?”

Sasaki was still leading his former subordinates. Pirates who joined the Beasts Pirates halfway were mostly like this; Beasts Pirates did not intend to split the subordinates but rather let the original captains lead their former crew.

“We’re waiting for someone. This is Captain Kaido’s order. Stop asking so many questions.”

He didn’t know who the person they were supposed to meet was. He just sent his location to the other party.

“Go and do whatever you want. I’ll wait here by myself.”

After waiting for a while without seeing the contact, Sasaki instructed his subordinates to do their own thing. But at this moment, a familiar voice came to his ears.

“Sasaki?”

“Mom?”

“Mom… Mom?!”

Hearing Sasaki’s address, his subordinates around him exclaimed.

“Ca… Captain, is this woman your mom?”

“I told you not to call me captain. I’m not a captain anymore. And yes, she is my mom. Is there a problem?”

After joining the Beasts Pirates, Sasaki gave up his captain title, but his former subordinates were not used to this yet and still called him by his old title during missions.

Sasaki didn’t get angry at this, but the next sentence almost made him lose his composure.

“Boss, you actually have a mom…”

Slap!

The one who slapped was not Sasaki but a subordinate beside him. They swiftly pulled the tactless person to the side and scolded him angrily, “Are you an idiot! Do you think he came out of a rock if he didn’t have a mother?”

Sometimes hitting someone is for their own good. Saying “You actually have a mom” in front of someone is practically insulting.

“You guys go do whatever you need to do and stop bothering me.”

Seeing his mom appear, Sasaki urged his subordinates to leave quickly.

Under Sasaki’s urging, his subordinates quickly disappeared from his sight, leaving only Sasaki and his mom.

“When you suddenly went out to sea, your brother and I were startled.”

“What’s there to be startled about? I’m just pursuing my dream. What about you and big brother?”

“Still the same. Do you have any plans now that you’re back?”

“Just on a mission. I’ll be leaving again after a while.”

Sasaki hadn’t planned to meet his mom. His big brother was still with her, and given her identity, she was not in any danger in Water 7, so there was no need to worry.

Meeting would only bring another separation. It would be better not to meet. Until he achieved his dream, he had no intention of going home. Being an ordinary shipwright in Water 7 was not his goal.

While Sasaki was chatting with his mom, his Rotom Phone released a weak electric current to his body, reminding him that his contact had arrived.

“Robin? What are you doing here?”

“Granny Kokoro? I’m here to meet someone. Why are you here?”

Robin called out Sasaki’s mother’s name—Kokoro, a Mermaid.

She came to Water 7 because she admired Tom, but later married a local human. This was not known to people on Fishman Island because she had been away for a long time.

During her days in Water 7, she worked as Tom’s beautiful secretary and gave birth to two half-Merfolk children—Sasaki and his older brother.

This is also the origin of Sasaki’s fangs and horns. He was not like Ulti and Page One, instead he was a hybrid Fish-Men, with fangs and horns as characteristics of the Fish-Men bloodline.

In appearance alone, he even looked more like a Fish-Man than Jack, who was a pureblood Fish-Man.

Robin met Kokoro a few times while looking for work in Water 7, so she recognized her. But seeing Kokoro at the contact point made her feel a bit confused.

Seeing the Rotom Phone in Robin’s hand, Sasaki understood that this was the person arranged by the Beasts Pirates.

“She’s my mom. The previous information said it wasn’t a secret operation, so it should be okay, right?”

He didn’t know the exact details of the mission but knew it wasn’t a secret operation. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be waiting here so openly. Running into his mother was an unexpected coincidence.

According to what he remembers, Kokoro would not pass through this area whether she was going to work or strolling around.

“No problem, it’s just a small matter.”

Robin’s purpose in Water 7 was almost completed. Some family members knowing her identity was not a big problem. Her request for personnel was also not complicated.

It was to bring back the latest archaeological data and the Sea Train’s data she collected to Onigashima, while also dealing with pirates in Water 7 and preventing any unexpected situations during her investigation.

Those World Government agents were not from any secret agencies, just the lowest-level agents. Sasaki was enough to deal with them.

As for dealing with Water 7 pirates, it was due to Tesoro. Because the new store was opening, the manpower here was insufficient and were often harassed by passing pirates.

Originally, this matter was supposed to be handled by Tesoro, but he was busy with business expansion. Since Robin needed extra hands anyway, he let her take care of it.

Sasaki had been training with Aggron for the past few years and hadn’t made much of a name for himself. Even his bounty remained at 88 million Berry, the same as before he joined the Beasts Pirates.

Thus, Kokoro didn’t know what her younger son had gone through in these years. She only knew from his words that he seemed to have joined a remarkable pirate crew.

In the end, Sasaki did not choose to go home but went straight to carry out his mission. The bounty remained unchanged, but that didn’t mean his strength hadn’t changed. Compared to a few years ago, Sasaki had undergone a qualitative leap.

Not to mention, with the formidable defense provided by Bastiodon, few in the first half of the Grand Line could hurt him. Moreover, during the chat, he also learned that his big brother had gotten married and had a daughter named Chimney this year.

A child with a quarter of the Mermaid bloodline, though she couldn’t breathe underwater, this bloodline gave her excellent swimming skills.

Meanwhile, a seemingly ordinary ship was approaching Water 7, but the crew members were all Fish-Men.

“Boss, what are we doing here?”

“Looking for someone to build us a new ship and delivering a letter for Den. This island is home to a Fish-Man genius. Uncle Tom is known as the world’s best shipwright.”

This was Tiger’s new exploration team. To find the sacred relics around the world, he needed a better ship. So, the purpose of this trip was to visit Tom.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the island, CP5, led by Spandam, was also on their way to Water 7.
