Mandrell’s territory, Mandrell was sitting on a beach chair with a helpless expression on his face.
“Strange, isn’t this place my private residence? Why are there more and more people?”
In simple terms, it was bustling. The entertainment facilities on the island were all activated, echoing with laughter and cheerful voices. Every now and then, joyful laughter could be heard, and shadows flashed in the swimming lanes, indicating swimming competitions were underway.
This situation wasn’t unusual. For an amusement park, this level of foot traffic was even considered low. However, the issue was that this wasn’t an open-to-the-public amusement park; it was Mandrell’s private residence.
“Sorry, Brother Mandrell, it seems to have gotten…too lively here.”
These people were all Merfolk and Fish-Men. Most of the Merfolk were around Shyarly’s age, her friends from Fishman Island. Additionally, the adult Fish-Men were Arlong and his subordinates.
Although Arlong said that he has no interest in such things, he had already rode the Ferris wheel countless times.
Arlong naturally followed Tiger here; it wasn’t easy to go to the Beasts Pirates’ main island, so they temporarily settled nearby.
The young Merfolk became interested in this place after seeing photos of Shyarly having fun. Word spread quickly, and before long, a large crowd of visitors had gathered here.
Mandrell could have naturally refused, but Rusalka enjoyed the lively atmosphere, so he let it be. The facilities were built for enjoyment anyway, and this added a touch of human warmth to the amusement park, making it feel more like an actual amusement park.
An empty amusement park devoid of people is not suitable to be a place for entertainment; such an environment would make it feel more like a haunted house.
As the two permanent residents of the island, they welcome others to come and play here. Mandrell has no reason to object, nor did he feel the need for Shyarly to apologize.
The purpose of building this place was to make Rusalka happy. Though there were some changes along the way, the outcome turned out very well.
“It’s alright, but that Arlong…are you two really blood-related?”
“That…it is indeed true.”
“To be honest, if it weren’t for knowing it’s impossible, I’d suspect Tiger was your real father.”
Mandrell said jokingly. The reason he was saying this was because besides Tiger, no one could control Arlong.
“Oh, Shyarly, could you do a fortune-telling for me? I’m having a strange feeling.”
“But Brother Mandrell, you don’t believe in this stuff, do you?”
“Believe or not, it doesn’t hurt to check.”
“Alright.” Saying this, Shyarly took out her crystal ball, something she always carried with her since discovering her strange gift.
“Hmm… There might be new guests coming here, and something interesting might happen between you all.”
“Guests? Who else would come here…Rusalka, did you invite someone?”
“No, I didn’t. Queen Otohime mentioned something similar before, but you already knew about it, right? They shouldn’t be considered new guests as Shyarly mentioned.”
This was one of Queen Otohime’s requests. Relying solely on her to promote understanding between the residents of Fishman Island and humans was impossible, so Mandrell’s place became an excellent spot.
The old Rusalka had few friends due to unfounded rumors, so she, who was accustomed to loneliness, craved interaction with people even more. Mandrell also managed to reach a private agreement with Fishman Island, through which he obtained a sum of money to maintain the facilities of the amusement park.
As for his subordinates, they didn’t mind the beautiful Merfolk coming here to play; in fact, they seemed quite excited. Due to their leader’s influence, Mandrell’s subordinates were the most affectionate group towards Fish-Men within the Beasts Pirates.
Moreover, there was another advantage here. Not only could one see the kind side of humans, but also encounter the bad side. Pirates who attack this place won’t consider whether there are tourists here or not.
This was essential because making the Merfolk overly relax their vigilance was not a good idea; among humans, there were indeed good people, but also countless villains.
“Nyuuuuu, Brother Arlong, it’s been over 30 rounds, aren’t you coming down yet?”
Below the Ferris wheel, Hachi arrived with some food. His subordinates had already gone elsewhere, leaving only Arlong in the gondola of the Ferris wheel.
“Go do your thing; I need to make sure this island is safe. It’s not good to have so many of our people running around without anyone keeping an eye on the island.”
“Nyuuuuu…”
Hearing that, Hachi left, not really believing Arlong’s words; anyone could tell he was playing around.
The Ferris wheel slowly rotated, bringing Arlong to the top, where he could see most of the private island’s areas.
He could naturally see Rusalka and Shyarly by Mandrell’s side, as well as other humans and Fish-Men happily interacting on the island. However, his gaze quickly shifted to the distant sea horizon, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
As he contemplated life, a massive shadow appeared beneath the sea surface.
Initially, Arlong didn’t pay attention; sea beasts were common in the sea, nothing to be curious about. However, this shadow was rapidly approaching the island.
“Hey! Something’s coming!”
Arlong’s shout was drowned out by the alarm. This island was a frontline outpost for the Beasts Pirates, and Mandrell was a former scout, so the island’s alert level was always high.
But Mandrell wasn’t worried because GT-2 showed no reaction. As a “bioweapon,” Genesect’s superlative alertness wouldn’t fail to react when enemies approached, unless it wasn’t an enemy.
A wave stirred on the sea surface, revealing a massive red figure. Nereus, with her giant-like stature, emerged onto the shore, accompanied by several Gyarados following behind her.
“Does Mandrell live here?”
Her time in Human Form wasn’t long, and coupled with Gyarados’ usual habits, her voice directly spread across the entire island.
Seeing the symbol on her crown, the Gyarados behind her and hearing her words, the people on the island heaved a sigh of relief. No one dared impersonate the Thousand Arms’ symbol, not to mention that the creatures behind her were created by Arceus.
However, Nereus’ figure sparked strange thoughts in some people, like Arlong. From his high vantage point, he glanced at Rusalka by Mandrell’s side, then at his own sister, and finally at the female giant on the shore, who seems to have Fish-Men bloodline.
“How many people has this guy seduced…”
