The scholars had many questions for her, especially the ones studying ancient creatures. As their interest in Pokémon gradually grew, this magical phenomenon called evolution became their main concern.
“Did you record its evolution process? How did it transform into this?”
“It just… completed in an instant.”
Although evolution was mysterious, the process itself was simple. When the energy accumulated in the body reached a certain level, the Pokémon’s body would be enveloped in the light of evolution, thus achieving its evolution. This process was fundamentally inexplicable.
Even though Robin witnessed Sobble evolve into Drizzile with her own eyes, she still couldn’t describe it.
Days on Sky Island were unremarkable, but within the simplicity, there was a warmth of home. After bringing back those research materials, Robin learned a few things from other scholars and then began her vacation.
After being away for two years, she planned to rest for a while on Onigashima before going out again.
“Robin, has the flag been of any use?”
“It has. The flag has been very helpful.”
While they were chatting, Yamato asked about the flag she lent to Robin earlier, wanting to know if it had been useful.
Aside from its role in the dealings with Doflamingo, the flag had indeed been greatly useful afterward, especially when returning from the Grand Line. It helped her avoid quite a bit of trouble.
“That’s good to hear. By the way, I heard you encountered some trouble on the way?”
“Who told you that?”
“Lizzi! The power given by Dad allows me to understand Pokémon; it seems like you’ve been on quite the adventure.”
“It wasn’t too bad, nothing major.”
“Wait here, I have something good that you should find useful. Let me give it to you.”
Saying that, Yamato returned to her room and after searching for a while, she found a set of white tight-fitting clothes.
It was the combat suit made by Queen. She had grown tired of playing with it, but that didn’t mean the suit was worthless. While the defense the combat suit offered was insignificant for Yamato, it was different for Robin. Defending against ordinary swords and bullets is enough for her.
However, the size was a bit off. For Yamato, it was tight-fitting, but for Robin, it was more like a loose robe.
“It seems a bit big. I’ll have Uncle Queen adjust the size for you later.”
This was a combat suit, not ordinary clothes. It’s obviously not something that just any tailor can make. Only the creator, Queen, can do it. As for how he can make the clothes in the first place, well, Queen unlocked the tailor skill thanks to his toymaking experience.
As the main island of the Beasts Pirates territory, Wano Country was very peaceful. After relaxing for a while, Robin left Wano Country once again with the newly tailored combat suit and Drizzile. Meanwhile, a letter arrived at Wano Country.
…
“Duchess, it’s an urgent letter from Hitsugisukan.”
The one who brought the letter was as usual Bepo, but this time Setsuna didn’t tell him to throw it away. Instead, she carefully read its contents. Over the years, she had experienced Hitsugisukan’s creative ways of trying to persuade her to take over.
Not to mention, Hitsugisukan would always invent new illness for himself in his letters. Over the years, he had been sick with everything from horn to wool-related illnesses.
The first time, Setsuna was quite worried, but after numerous instances, she became immune to such tricks. If it was a message written by Hitsugisukan himself claiming that he was ill, she wouldn’t believe it at all.
“Zeraora, I need to return to Zou Island.”
“What’s wrong? Is there really trouble?”
“No, it’s the same old trick. He is definitely trying to trick me into returning and taking the throne. I need to find a way to permanently solve this issue.”
“Zeraora, does Lord Arceus have any medicine that, when eaten, can guarantee one wouldn’t fall ill?”
“Well… such a thing doesn’t exist, but there are plenty of things to nurture and strengthen the body.”
“Then it’s not a problem. I’ll probably be gone for a while. Do you want to come with me?”
“No, there’s something Lord Arceus needs me to do, so I have to go out for a while.”
“Alright, then see you later.”
Afterward, Setsuna went to look for Ferren, the Millennial Dragon who had visited Zou Island the most times among the Millennial Dragons. Although Zou Island’s location wasn’t fixed, Ferren was more familiar with the living environment there. However, before departing, Setsuna noticed Bepo looking dazed.
“Bepo, what’s wrong?”
“Duchess, do you think…bears can fly?”
“Bears definitely can’t fly. Why would you ask such a question?”
“Look over there…”
Bepo’s hand pointed to the sky where the Bewear was holding unknown leaves, vigorously flapping its arms, and unbelievably, it was able to fly using this method with Perona sitting on its back.
“Bepo, you haven’t been here long enough. You must understand, creatures created by Lord Arceus come in many unscientific types. What Bewear can do, you cannot.”
Birds can fly by flapping their wings due to their special muscles and hollow bones. Bewear being able to do this just by flapping its arms defies those rules entirely.
After patting Bepo’s shoulder to tell him to stop thinking about unrealistic things, Setsuna and Ferren returned to Zou Island following the direction of the Vivre Card.
Meanwhile, in Mokomo Dukedom. Hitsugisukan felt a headache coming on as he more reports arrive.
Before, Zou Island’s ecology used to be primitive, relying on Zunesha for replenishing supplies. Life in the country was simple and ordinary. As the Duke of Zou Island, he only needed to deal with some minor conflicts among the people, at most being a village head.
However, with a large amount of supplies from the Beasts Pirates reaching Zou Island, Mokomo Dukedom entered a period of rapid development. Renovation of houses, improvement of water conservation facilities enhanced residents’ lives, but it also increased Hitsugisukan’s workload.
Zou Island had always been a single-person government system. Although he had recently found a few assistants, they had little experience and were still learning. All major matters still fell on his shoulders, and he was starting to lose his hair lately.
Despite stepping down from the duke’s position, he still had to handle government affairs. This made Hitsugisukan extremely troubled, hence why he would send letters to urge Setsuna whenever he had time.
Originally, he didn’t have much hope, just hoping Setsuna would return soon and take the throne after having her fun. But today, he received different news.
“Regent Hitsugisukan, Duchess, she’s back!”
“What?! Quickly prepare for the succession ceremony…No, I’m ill at the moment…Go bring her here.”
