Clang! Clang!
Several grappling hooks latched onto the side of their ship, linking the two vessels completely with iron chains. This was the most traditional way of boarding in naval combat. As the people on the ship exerted their strength to pull the chains, the distance between the two ships steadily decreased.
Shadow Fox was several times heavier compared to the slave catcher’s ship. The people on board could easily slide down the chains, and their objective was clear – aside from the chained slaves, every living person on the ship was their target for elimination.
Just a few minutes ago, the people on the ship were jovially discussing how much money they would make from this trade. But in an instant, misfortune fell upon them.
The slaves in the hold had no idea what was happening, but upon hearing the cries of battle, many of them had a smile on their faces. For them, it was a good thing if the slave traders met their doom before them.
At this moment, the sounds of hurried footsteps approached. The once haughty slave trader now looked battered and exhausted as he scanned his surroundings, finally making his way to a towering slave.
“Hey, Victarion! Go defeat those guys outside, and I’ll grant you your freedom!”
Not only were there attractive female slaves on board, but there were also some strong combat slaves, most of whom were captured pirates or soldiers from non-allied kingdoms.
Celestial Dragons like to purchase such big guys to serve as household guards, and there are also those who acquire similar people to employ as loyal bodyguards or in similar roles.
The guards on the ship appeared utterly defenseless against the incoming attackers, leaving him with no other option but to come up with this plan.
Victarion was a defeated pirate, but he paid no attention to the slave trader’s words.
“Can’t you hear me, you fool? Have you forgotten what this is?” He said as he took out a remote control, which was the detonator for the bomb collar. For the particularly dangerous slaves, they had already been equipped with slave collars.
“Go ahead, press it if you dare! We’ll just all die here together. Do you really think I’d believe your nonsense about freedom?!”
Sometimes, people suddenly have moments of clarity. For instance, the pirate named Victarion abandoned his previous thoughts of surviving by any means necessary. If it weren’t for the chains restraining him, he might have ignored the threat of the collar and simply choked the other’s neck.
However, someone else took care of that for him. A beast claw suddenly pierced the man’s chest from behind.
“Don’t keep running around. You are making things difficult for me.”
After dealing with the enemy in front of her, she shook the blood off her hands and asked the people in the surrounding cages, “Does anyone know where this guy put the keys?”
“They should be on that guy over there,” a nearby slave pointed at the fallen man in front of Olga. As she searched for the keys, the crowd of slaves became restless, as it seemed like she was trying to save them.
“Sister, Sister!” Sandersonia and Marigold looked at Hancock and felt that something was wrong. She was blushing while looking in Olga’s direction.
As mentioned before, Olga often uses fake appearance when she goes out, and words cannot adequately describe the countless faces she wore.
Due to Zoroark’s ability to deceive even cameras, a few of the disguises Olga used have already appeared among the wanted criminals. Trying to find her based on those photos would likely be an impossible task for the rest of their lives.
If Olga really had the misfortune of meeting someone with the similar appearance, Olga wouldn’t know what to say. After all, her disguises were either extremely ugly or extremely beautiful, far beyond the normal range of human appearances.
Before making her move, she had adjusted her face to a very handsome male appearance and chose a black butler outfit. She even dyed her hair red.
Without knowing the details, one might easily mistake her for her older brother.
This was the most cost-effective way for her to live. As long as she didn’t mind, she had the entire world’s wardrobe and jewelry at her disposal, as long as she knew what those things looked like.
Hancock hailed from Maiden Island, an island without any men. The slave traders were the first men they had ever come into contact with.
Although they didn’t do anything to them so as to not affect their prices, Hancock harbored a strong hatred for these people, and thanks to the teachings of the Kuja, this disgust expanded to encompass the entire male population.
However, they had not yet been sold to the Celestial Dragons by this group of slave traders, so this feeling of loathing was limited. It was at this time that Olga, disguised as a man, appeared.
In this world, appearances mattered. If Olga had chosen to appear as an ugly man this time, the outcome might have been different. But facing that handsome guy, she felt something within her heart stir.
However, it was just a fleeting moment. After a nudge from Sandersonia and Marigold, she had already recovered.
As Olga unlocked them one by one, a bloodbath was unfolding on the World Government’s small ship. When these slave traders encountered pirates who had battled in the New World, their brief encounter turned into utter defeat.
Many of them now wanted to board the small ship, but when they finally made it over, they encountered the camouflaged Elizabeth, and a gruesome massacre unfolded on the ship, akin to an alien horror show.
Following the rising flames, the two ships sank in the sea, but Olga still did not dispel her illusion, considering the unstable factors before her.
“Everyone, we’ll be docking at Sabaody Archipelago next. You are free now, and you can leave on your own at that time. Of course, you can also choose to stay and join us.”
“Uh… Can you take us back home? I live in…”
“No, saving you is a personal hobby, but we are not obligated to take you back home. However, you can leave your address, and if it’s on the way, we’ll drop you off nearby.”
This was their usual practice, and she had no intention of personally taking each person back home. Saving them was one thing, but what happened afterward was not her concern.
Sandersonia had originally wanted to ask this question, but Olga’s response shut down any further inquiries. Kuja was situated in the Calm Belt, and no matter how you look at it, it doesn’t seem to be on the way.
But for now, at least, they had gained their freedom. They had to take it one step at a time.
When the Shadow Fox arrived at Sabaody Archipelago, the number of people on board had decreased by ninety percent. The money from the slave ship was divided among them for travel expenses, and Olga believed this was already quite generous.
Hancock and her group didn’t leave because there were no ships heading to Kuja. It was their first time leaving Kuja, and they didn’t know how to return.
At the same time, some people, led by Victarion, also chose not to leave, as they felt it was a better deal to stay behind.
