In Zeraora’s eyes, only Arceus, his creator, is worthy of the title god, while Gan Fall is seen as nothing more than a stronger ordinary person.
So to him, Gan Fall was unworthy of the title of god.
“Don’t be impatient, Zeraora. We are not the main characters in this battle,” he said, looking at the chief beside him. They were supposed to be helping the Shandians reclaim their home; it was not their declaration of war.
At that moment, Gan Fall spurred the flying horse below him to get closer.
Although it was called a horse, it was actually more like a horse-shaped creature. Skypiea doesn’t have creatures like Pegasus; it was actually a Sky Dot Bird that had consumed the Horse-Horse Fruit.
The numerous black circular spots on its pink skin were proof of its species. The black spots covered its entire body, including the back of the wings. Just the sight of these spots could make some people feel uncomfortable on a psychological level.
“I am the god of this place, Gan Fall. Shandians, Blue Sea people, why have you come here?”
“Gan Fall! Enough with the nonsense. We’re here to reclaim our home, to take back Upper Yard!”
“Kodol, I’ve told you before that we can sit down and discuss all these things. There’s no need to go to war.”
“Fine. You Skypieans leave that place, return Upper Yard to us, and we can negotiate the rest.” As he spoke, he lifted the DIY bazooka on his shoulder, pointing it in Gan Fall’s direction.
“That’s impossible. Upper Yard has been an integral part of Skypiea for hundreds of years.”
“In that case, there’s nothing more to discuss.”
Looking at the Shandians, Gan Fall prepared himself for battle.
Though he disliked fighting, as the ruler of an island, he is always prepared to face enemies.
On the White-White Sea, soil was a precious commodity. It had no fixed value but held immeasurable significance.
After Shandora was blasted up to Skypiea, that piece of island became Upper Yard, the island of gods of Skypiea, where the ruling class of Skypiea resided. Ordinary Skypiea residents couldn’t enter it at will.
Therefore, the conflict between the Shandians and the Skypieans wasn’t a conflict between the Shandians and all Skypieans, but rather a conflict with the ruling class of Skypiea.
Gan Fall had tried to negotiate with the Shandians, but the fundamental conflict between them couldn’t be resolved.
Shandians wanted these invaders to leave their homeland, while the Skypieans were unwilling to give up so much land.
To break this conflict, an even stronger enemy had to appear, one that treats both the Shandians and Skypieans as enemies. Only under external pressure could their conflict be reconciled.
For example, Enel and the Beasts Pirates’ forces could achieve this, but due to past events, Beasts Pirates chose the side of the Shandians.
Expecting the negotiations to fail as before, Gan Fall thought that what would follow would be no different: a fierce battle between the two sides, some casualties on each side, and then an angry departure.
But today’s outcome was different.
The outsiders from the Blue Sea ended this battle with an overwhelming dominance, to the surprise of both the Skypieans and the Shandians.
Before they could even engage the enemy, the battle had already been brought to an end by Zeraora.
Transformed into Thunderclap, Zeraora moved through the ranks of the Skypieans. Whenever his figure passed through an area, groups of people fell to the ground under the attack of lightning.
Even the strongest among them, Gan Fall, was not significantly different. If anything, an ordinary person would simply get paralyzed by Zeraora’s electric discharge, while Gan Fall managed to escape with just a slight injury.
“Too weak! How dare you call yourselves a god? How dare you call yourselves the God’s Guards?” Zeraora said.
Zeraora hadn’t planned to intervene; Mandrell was enough to handle them. But the fact that the ruler of Skypiea referred to himself as god was an affront to Zeraora.
If he was stronger, it would be acceptable, as gods could also vary in strength. However, his level of power was completely unworthy of comparison with Arceus. Arceus was the only real god in Zeraora’s heart.
“Boring, Boss Zeraora has already taken action.”
“Yeah, the people from Paradise are really too weak.”
Although there was some difference between Skypiea and the Grand Line, its location was ultimately here, so there shouldn’t be any major issues in saying this.
From the moment Zeraora stepped off the ship, these pirates had already put away their weapons because they knew the outcome.
This is the result of getting crushed by someone at an officer level. If there isn’t an individual with powerful strength to counter the enemy’s strongest, then the number of people is meaningless.
Compared to these pirates who are accustomed to such situations, Setsuna’s emotions were quite complex.
“Sister Setsuna, what’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing. I’m just wondering what was the meaning of me coming here.”
Earlier in Mock Town, she had just dealt with an opponent, and the rest of those people were all taken care of by Mandrell and others.
Now on Skypiea, Zeraora was even faster. In less than a minute, the enemies have already been wiped out.
She remembers someone telling her before that she was coming with them to train her skills, but now it seems like it has been in vain.
Shandians’ gazes were filled with even more reverence. Yesterday, Mandrell alone defeated all the warriors barehanded, which was shocking enough for the chief.
And now, the enemies that had troubled Shandia for hundreds of years were completely defeated in just a few minutes. They didn’t even have the qualifications to fight back. This was beyond their comprehension.
“So, you are the Ancient God.”
According to the ancestral legend, when the Lunarians entrusted them with something, they said similar words.
Zeraora heard the words he said just now. In his understanding, Arceus is a god of another race, and he has already recovered.
“Do you really only need those ordinary Dials?”
Although they were not able to match the Skypieans in battle, they had the ability to resist them, which is why the war had continued for hundreds of years.
But faced with overwhelmingly oppressive power, they felt a sense of reverence, just like when they believed a giant snake to be a god. Shandians would worship exceptionally powerful creatures, especially when they were helping them.
Their homeland returned to their hands, and not even a single one of their people was injured. This was a far cry from what they imagined the battle would be like.
“This is the reward for keeping your promise for hundreds of years. Our conditions will not change. The enemy has been defeated, and now Shandora is yours.”
People have a tendency to rationalize things through their own imagination. Once the chief acknowledged Arceus as a God, this behavior became even more reasonable.
The blessings that gods casually bestow upon mortals are invaluable treasures. Reclaiming Shandora was difficult for them, but for the other side, it’s just a piece of cake.
Now even the way he looked towards Zeraora changed. This beastman is probably the real envoy of the god.
But the matter is not completely over yet. Gan Fall and his people have all been knocked out by Zeraora, and there probably aren’t many people left in Upper Yard.
However, there are still a large number of Skypieans living on the nearby Angel Island. That’s where ordinary residents live and where a large number of Dials are produced.
Arceus dislikes slaughter, and he can’t just kill all those people. This is where Gan Fall’s role comes into play.
As the ruler of Skypiea, his surrender represents a particular attitude.
