Unlike Goku, Vegeta wasn’t the main character gifted opportunities left and right. Vegeta put in 3x more work than everyone else only to constantly be surpassed by Goku who just got stronger by the power of friendship and not being able to control his emotions. Vegeta had his short comings, but he was the most hardworking and the character that had the most character development in the story. Vegeta was arrogant, prideful, and a bit hard headed at times like the author has said, but he would not have let those things get in the way of him getting stronger and surpassing those that made him feel inferior. Vegeta imo was the most human of the saiyans. Ive never met a human as kind hearted and pure as Goku so I find it hard to relate to such a character and was really drawn to Vegetas hardworking, never bending, not perfect character.
In this story the author gave him even less opportunities than the original work gave him while helping almost everyone else in the story get stronger, took away bulma who grounded his temperament a bit, and is making his own son look at him in disgust. Why is Vegeta being hated on currently by the author/mc? because in their words he tried to take on cell on his own and could not defeat him and it could have caused even more casualties due to his failure and pride. MC’s wife did exactly the same thing. She left the paste of cell on the ground after facing him alone and trusting her own strength assumed she was enough to kill him, but we all know that was wrong now. He’s back yet again, stronger, and has killed countless people after the fact. This is also not the first time the mc and his wives have made this mistake, so Im not understanding how they can be so judgemental. Maybe they should look in the mirror.
